Las Toscas, Canelones
Las Toscas is a resort of the Costa de Oro in the Canelones Department of southern Uruguay. Location The resort is located on the 47th km of Ruta Interbalnearia between Atlántida to the west and Parque del Plata to the east. History Today, Las Toscas is merged with Atlántida to the west and Parque del Plata to the east, but in the creation of these locations, during the first decades of the 20th century, it gave the name to the whole zone. Atlántida's train station wal also named Las Toscas, and was, with Ruta 11, the only way to get into de area before the construction of the Ruta Interbalnearia. Costa De Oro
Costa de Oro is a long group of resort towns and beaches in Canelones Department, Uruguay, east of the Ciudad de la Costa. Document of the INE differentiating between Costa de Oro and Ciudad de la Costa and referring to a small difference with the Cartography Department which does not include Country Villa Juana in Costa de Oro (see footnote). Until 19 October 1994 it also included all the resorts that became henceforth integrated under the name Ciudad de la Costa. Uruguay consists of 19 departments (''departamentos''). Each department has a legislature called a Departmental Board. The ''Intendente'' is the department's chief executive. Canelones Department
The Departamento de Canelones ( es, Departamento de Canelones; ) is one of the 19 uruguayan departments. With an area of and 518,154 inhabitants, it is located in the south of Uruguay. Its capital is Canelones. Geography and climate Neighbouring departments are Maldonado and Lavalleja to the East, Florida to the North, San José to the West, and Montevideo to the South. Part of the southern border is formed by the Río de la Plata. It is the second smallest department of the country after that of Montevideo, but the second largest in population. Telephone Numbers In Uruguay
Uruguay's calling code is +598. Since 2010, national long distance calling was eliminated, thus there are no area codes in each city. Landline telephony ANTEL (Spanish abbreviation for National Administration of Telecommunications) is Uruguay's state-owned company for telecommunications. Previously in Uruguay, phone numbers used to have between 4 and 7 digits. To make a local phone call, you only had to dial those digits. To make a call between two cities from different departments, you had to dial zero, plus area code, plus phone number. Ruta Interbalnearia
Ruta Interbalnearia (which means Inter-resort Route) or Ruta Líber Seregni is a national route of Uruguay. It connects Montevideo with Punta del Este to the east along the coast. The road is approximately in length. It is marked on maps and signs as IB. The distance notation along Ruta Interbalnearia uses the same Kilometre Zero reference as Routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 which is the Pillar of Peace of Plaza de Cagancha in the Centro of Montevideo. Atlántida, Uruguay
Atlántida is a resort town of the Costa de Oro in Canelones Department of Uruguay, east of Montevideo. Atlántida is also the name of the municipality to which the town belongs and which includes a few more resort towns to the north and to the west of the town, i.e. Estación Atlántida, City Golf, Villa Argentina, Fortín de Santa Rosa and rural areas to their north. Parque Del Plata
Parque del Plata is a city of the Costa de Oro in the Canelones Department of southern Uruguay. Location The city is located on the Ruta Interbalnearia, east of Montevideo, extending for over the coast west of the stream Arroyo Solís Chico. The influence of Le Corbusier can be seen in the modern town planning of this resort. History On 9 December 1969, its status was elevated from "Balneario" (resort) to "Ciudad" (city) by the Act of Ley Nº 13.806.
