Las Kellies
Las Kellies is an Argentine post-punk group formed in 2005 by Cecilia Kelly (vocals/guitar) and Silvina Costa (vocals/drums). They currently perform with Manuela Ducatenzeiler. The group has been signed to Fire Records since 2010 and have released five albums: ''Shaking Dog'' (2007), ''Kalimera'' (2009), ''Kellies'' (2011)''Total Exposure'' (2013) and ''Friends & Lovers'' (2016). Biography The band was formed when Kelly and Costa met at a concert in 2005 and decided to form a female rock band. They opted to use the surname of their lead singer and guitarist Cecilia Kelly as a name for the band. Since then all members use the same surname as a pseudonym. Their original bass player Titi Kelly left the band before the release of their first album in 2007 for personal reasons and was replaced by JJ Kelly. Post-punk
Post-punk (originally called new musick) is a broad genre of punk music that emerged in the late 1970s as musicians departed from punk's traditional elements and raw simplicity, instead adopting a variety of avant-garde sensibilities and non-rock influences. Inspired by punk's energy and DIY ethic but determined to break from rock cliches, artists experimented with styles like funk, electronic music, jazz, and dance music; the production techniques of dub and disco; and ideas from art and politics, including critical theory, modernist art, cinema and literature. Fire Records (UK)
Fire Records is a British independent record label, run by James Nicholls, with offices in London, England and New York, USA. The label was founded by music journalist Johnny Waller and Clive Solomon in 1985 and released early records from Pulp, Teenage Fanclub (on subsidiary label Paperhouse), Spacemen 3 (formerly on Glass Records), Blue Aeroplanes, Lives of Angels and others. In the early 1990s, the label was home to Neutral Milk Hotel, The Lemonheads, Built to Spill, Urge Overkill and others. Mouse On Mars
Mouse on Mars is a German electronic music duo formed in 1993 by Jan St. Werner and Andi Toma. Their music is a blend of electronic genres including IDM, dub, krautrock, breakbeat and ambient, featuring heavy use of organic analog synth and cross-frequency modulation. Their music also features live instrumentation including strings, horns, drums, bass, and guitar. History St. Werner, from Cologne, and Toma, from Düsseldorf, are childhood friends who were born on the same day and in the same hospital. Latino punk is punk music created by Latino people in Latin America and the United States. The angst and protest qualities of punk music and style have had a strong appeal to Latino youth in the U.S., and to the people in Latin America. It is impossible to pinpoint the exact location or moment when Latinos began engaging in the punk subculture.
