Lars Paaske
Lars Paaske (born 18 January 1976) is a badminton player from Denmark. Career He competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's doubles with partner Jonas Rasmussen. After an initial bye in the first round, then were defeated in the next round by Yim Bang-eun and Kim Yong-hyun of Korea. Paaske then competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing in men's doubles again with partner Jonas Rasmussen where they were chasing the one medal lacking in their collection: An Olympic medal. The pair lost in the semi final, and then again in the match for 3rd place to finish with a disappointing 4th spot. Paaske won the gold medal at the 2008 European Badminton Championships in men's doubles with Jonas Rasmussen. Hørsholm () is an urban area on the Øresund coast approximately north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The Denmark Open, or formerly known as Danish Open, is an annual badminton tournament held in Denmark and organized by Badminton Denmark. The Denmark Open was part of the BWF Super Series Premier from 2011 to 2017. BWF categorised it as one of the five BWF World Tour Super 750 events per the BWF events structure since 2018. History The tournament started in 1936 and it is now the world's second oldest badminton tournament. It was interrupted by World War II and was on hiatus from 1956 through 1964. Martin Lundgaard
Martin Lundgaard Hansen (born 11 October 1972) is a badminton player from Denmark. He started his career in badminton as a singles player, and competed in the 1993 IBF World Championships. But as the years went by, he made a choice to play doubles. Teamed-up with Lars Paaske, they emerged as the men's doubles champion at the 1999, 2001 Denmark Open, and in 2000, he and Paaske participated at the Olympic Games. The career highlights for Hansen was when he partnered with Jens Eriksen. The duo won the 2004 and 2006 All England Open, won gold at the European Championships, and was at the time a half years as No.1 in the world. Yim Bang-eun (born 25 April 1978) is a former South Korean badminton player from Samsung Electro-Mechanics team. Yim competed for Korea in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's doubles with partner Kim Yong-hyun. They had a bye in the first round and defeated Lars Paaske and Jonas Rasmussen of Denmark in the second. Jonas Rasmussen
Jonas Rasmussen (born 28 October 1977 in Aarhus) is a retired badminton player from Denmark. Career With his men's doubles partner Lars Paaske he won the 2003 IBF World Championships defeating Indonesian pair Candra Wijaya and Sigit Budiarto in the gold medal match and the All England Super Series 2010 defeating compatriots Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen. Rasmussen also competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's doubles with Paaske.
