Lars Oftedal Broch
Lars Oftedal Broch (1 January 1939 – 11 November 2017) was a Norwegian judge. He graduated as cand.jur. from the University of Oslo in 1965, and worked as consultant in the Ministry of Justice and the Police from 1965, worked under the Norwegian Consumer Ombudsman from 1971, as deputy under-secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice from 1972, as president of the International Organisation of Consumers Unions from 1983 to 1987. From 1989 to 1996 he was the director of the Norwegian National Authority for the Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crime, and from 1996 to 2008 he was a Supreme Court Justice. He was a member of the Labour Party, but as a member of ''Sosialistisk Studentlag'' in 1958 took part in the so-called "Easter Uprising". He left the Labour Party after this, but contrary to some he did not join the new Socialist Left Party. His maternal grandfather is Lars Oftedal, and he was married to Kjersti Graver. Kjersti Graver
Kjersti Graver (8 October 1945 – 14 February 2009) was a Norwegian jurist. Personal life She was born in Oslo as the oldest child of Gerd and Odd Graver. She was a granddaughter of Torjus Graver and niece of Petter Graver. She was married to Supreme Court Justice Lars Oftedal Broch, grandson of Lars Oftedal. They resided at Jar. Career She took her law degree in 1970. After serving as a deputy judge and working in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Administration, she was hired as a head of department in the Norwegian Consumer Council in 1979. From 1984 to 1987 she worked for the Dutch Consumer Research Institute. She served as the Norwegian Consumer Ombudsman from 1987 to 1995. Anstein Birger Gjengedal (born 26 November 1944) is a former Norwegian police chief. He was born in Lom. He was a public prosecutor in Eidsivating from 1977 until 1989 when he became deputy director of the Norwegian National Authority for the Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crime. He then served as director from 1996 to 2000, and in 2000 he became Chief of Police of Oslo, until his successor Hans Sverre Sjøvold took over in June 2012. Lars Oftedal (3 January 1877 – 19 April 1932) was a Norwegian attorney and newspaper editor. Biography Oftedal was born in Stavanger in Rogaland, Norway. He was the son of parish priest Lars Oftedal (1838–1900) and his wife Olava Mathilde Ohlsen (1839–1931). His father was the founding editor of ''Stavanger Aftenblad'' and also served as a member of the Storting. Oftedal attended Kongsgaard skole in Stavanger and took Cand. jur. in 1899. He was editor of ''Stavanger Aftenblad'' from 1900 to 1921. He served with the Stavanger city council from 1907 until 1921. From 1916 to 1918 he was deputy to the Storting and was elected as a permanent representative in 1922 and 1925. He was Minister of Social Affairs 1921-1922 and 1924-1926 in Prime Minister Mowinckel's First Cabinet.
