Lars Haltbrekken
Lars Haltbrekken (born 9 March 1971) is a Norwegian environmentalist and was elected to the Parliament of Norway in 2017 for the Socialist Left Party. He was chairman of Friends of the Earth Norway from 2005 to 2016 after having been deputy chairman from 2003 to 2005. Haltbrekken was also chairman of Natur og Ungdom in 1995 and 1996. In between the two leaderships he worked primarily trying to prevent natural gas power plants in Norway, and was chairman of Fellesaksjonen mot gasskraftverk. He grew up in Trondheim. Politics Parliament Haltbrekken was elected to the Storting in 2017 and was re-elected in 2021. Storting
The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. Heidi Sørensen
Heidi Sørensen (born 14 February 1970) is a Norwegian politician for the Socialist Left Party. With a Danish father, Sørensen held Danish citizenship in her early life. She was born in Levanger, and studied for a cand.mag. degree between 1989 and 1992. In her youth Sørensen was an active environmentalist, and was leader of Natur og Ungdom between 1993 and 1994, and later became leader of Friends of the Earth Norway between 1995 and 1998. She was also a working committee member in No to the EU from 1991 to 1995. She was elected to the Parliament of Norway from Oslo in 2001, but was not re-elected in 2005. Erik Solheim
Erik Solheim (born 18 January 1955) is a Norwegian diplomat and former politician. Audun Bjørlo Lysbakken (born 30 September 1977) is a Norwegian politician and the current leader of the Norwegian Socialist Left Party (Norway), Socialist Left Party. Fellesaksjonen mot gasskraftverk (lit. ''The common action against gas power plants'') is a former environmental organisation that functioned as a binding between various NGOs who were opposed to the construction of fossile gas thermal power plants in Norway. It was created in all secrecy in 1997 and was able to collect about 3,000 people willing to use civil disobedience to hinder the construction, before going public to announce this resistance. Natural gas (also called fossil gas or simply gas) is a naturally occurring mixture of gaseous hydrocarbons consisting primarily of methane in addition to various smaller amounts of other higher alkanes.
