Lars Anthonius Johannes Boom (born 30 December 1985) is a professional cyclo-cross and mountain bike racing cyclist from the Netherlands. He has also competed professionally in road racing, having raced between 2004 and 2019. Born in Vlijmen, Netherlands, Boom has also previously competed for and their junior and continental teams over two spells with the team, as well as . Boom won the cyclo-cross world championships in 2008. He has also been the Dutch national cyclo-cross champion in his discipline from 2001 to 2012 – junior cyclo-cross champion from 2002 to 2003, under-23 champion from 2004 to 2006, and the elite champion from 2007 to 2012. 2015 Tour De France
The 2015 Tour de France was the 102nd edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling's Grand Tours. The -long race consisted of 21 stages, starting on 4 July in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and concluding on 26 July with the Champs-Élysées stage in Paris. 2012 Eneco Tour
The 2012 Eneco Tour was the eighth running of the Eneco Tour cycling stage race. It started on August 6 in Waalwijk in the Netherlands and ended on August 12 in Geraardsbergen, Belgium, after seven stages. It was the 20th race of the 2012 UCI World Tour season. The race was won by rider Lars Boom, who claimed the leader's white jersey on the final day after finishing second to rider Alessandro Ballan on the queen stage, and held enough of an advantage to assume the leader's jersey with his result. Mountain bike racing (shortened MTB or ATB racing) is the competitive cycle sport discipline of mountain biking held on off-road terrain. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) recognised the discipline relatively late in 1990, when it sanctioned the world championships in Durango, Colorado. UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships
The UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships are the world championships for cyclo-cross organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). Starting in 2020, six events are organized each year – men's elite, women's elite, men's under 23, women's under 23, men's under 18 (Men's Juniors), and women's under 18 (Women's Juniors). Traditionally, the elite events are held on a Sunday with the other events held on the Saturday the day before. The UCI awards a gold medal and a rainbow jersey to the winner. Road bicycle racing is the cycle sport discipline of road cycling, held primarily on Road surface, paved roads.
