Larry Robinson (Canadian Football)
Larry Robinson (April 18, 1942 – July 18, 2018) was a Canadian professional football player who played as a defensive back and placekicker for fifteen seasons in the Canadian Football League for the Calgary Stampeders from 1961 to 1975. Calgary As a member of the Calgary Stampeders, Larry Robinson played in three Grey Cup games: the 56th Grey Cup of 1968, lost to the Ottawa Rough Riders; the 58th Grey Cup of 1970, lost to the Montreal Alouettes; and the 59th Grey Cup of 1971, won against the Toronto Argonauts. Robinson was one of the best safety backs of his era. 1970 CFL Season
The 1970 CFL season is considered to be the 17th season in modern-day Canadian football, although it is officially the 13th Canadian Football League season. CFL news in 1970 3M Tartan Turf was installed at Vancouver's Empire Stadium, making it the first CFL venue to have artificial turf. The first sod was preserved and sent to Hamilton to be used as part of the future Canadian Football Hall of Fame building. The first CFL All-Star Game was held since 1958. Canadian Football Hall Of Fame
The Canadian Football Hall of Fame (CFHOF) is a not-for-profit corporation, located in Hamilton, Ontario, that celebrates great achievements in Canadian football. It is maintained by the Canadian Football League (CFL). It includes displays about the CFL, Canadian university football and Canadian junior football history. The Hall previously had a main feature in the central portion of the museum where inducted members, each with a metal bust depicting their head, were displayed prior to the physical building being closed. There were also featured displays that highlight each CFL team's history, and an interactive Field goal kicking exhibit. The CFHOF is currently changing to a de-centralized model, which does not included a main museum building (see "Today" below). Once during every CFL season, the Hall sponsors the induction ceremony of former players.
