Larry Phillips (Texas Politician)
Lawrence Augustine Phillips is an American judge and politician. He served as a Republican member for the 62nd district of the Texas House of Representatives. Phillips attended Baylor University, where he earned his bachelor's degree. He then attended the University of Houston, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree. In 2003, Phillips won the 62nd district of the Texas House of Representatives. He succeeded Ron Clark. In 2018, Phillips was succeeded by Reggie Smith for the 62nd district. Phillips served as a judge of the Texas District Courts for Grayson County, Texas Grayson County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 135,543. Ronald Hurley Clark (born January 5, 1953) is a senior United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Biography Born in Caripito, Venezuela, Clark received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut in 1973 and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut in 1974. He was an armor officer in the United States Army from 1974 to 1976, where he served at Fort Hood, Texas and Germany as a mortar platoon leader and tank company executive officer in 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 2nd Armor Division. In 1979, he received a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas Law School in Austin. He was in the United States Army Reserve from 1980 to 1990, where he served in the 490th Civil Affairs Company in Abilene, Texas (1980–82) and the Individual Ready Reserve (1983–90).
