Larry Glick
Larry Glick (May 16, 1922 – March 26, 2009) was an American talk radio host, based in Boston, Boston, Massachusetts, who presented a long-running show on WBZ (AM), WBZ and later WEEI (AM)#WHDH at 850 kHz, WHDH through the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. His broadcast at WBZ covered 38 states, Larry was well known wherever he went and was liked by all. A memorable part of his broadcasts were the countless people who would call in to talk about anything and everything, from personal problems to worldly problems. In his heyday many would say he ran the nighttime airways. Larry was known for his easy going manner and great sense of humor. In Boston, Glick's all-night show went out first over WMEX (AM), WMEX in 1965. In 1967, he was hired by WBZ (AM), WBZ, where he worked for the next 20 years. Roxbury Memorial High School is a defunct four-year public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades. Originally founded as Roxbury High School, the school was situated at 26 Townsend Street, in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, United States from 1926 until its closure in 1960. WMEX (1510 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Quincy, Massachusetts, and serving the Greater Boston media market. It is owned by L&J Media, headed by Tony LaGreca and Larry Justice. WMEX broadcasts an oldies radio format of hits from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, as well as full service features including local DJs, news, traffic and weather.
