Larry Dwyer
Lawrence Joseph Dwyer (2 February 1884 – August 1964) was an Australian rugby union player, a state and national representative fullback who captained the Wallabies in 1913. Dwyer, a fullback, was born in Orange, New South Wales. He was schooled at the Patrician Brothers School in Orange but left school at age 12 and worked as a clerk in a solicitor's office while playing rugby for the Orange Waratahs club.Howell p 54 Rugby career Dwyer first came to public notice playing for a Western Districts representative side of country New South Wales in 1908. He made his New South Wales representative debut in 1910 appearing in two games against a touring All Blacks side playing alongside other future Wallaby captains in Sydney Middleton, Ward Prentice, Ted Fahey and Fred Wood. Orange is a city in the Central Tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia. It is west of the state capital, Sydney on a great circle at an altitude of . 1912 Australia Rugby Union Tour Of Canada And The USA
The 1912 Australia rugby union tour of Canada and the United States was a collection of friendly rugby union games undertaken by the Australia national rugby union team against various invitational teams from Canada and the U.S, and also against the US national team. The squad's leadership Dr. Otto Martin Bohrsmann (1869–1944) was tour manager. He was a Sydney physician who served as New South Wales Rugby Union treasurer for a number of years. Howell attributes the team's poor performance to a lack of discipline stemming from weakly imposed tour management. Bohrsmann's name would later be given to the landmark Mona Road, Darling Point, Sydney property Otto, which he bought in 1925 and which was retained by his descendants until 2010. Maxwell Leo "Max" Howell AO ''(né'' Maxwell Leopold Howell; 23 July 1927 – 3 February 2014) was an Australian educator and rugby union player. He played 5 Tests and 27 non-Test games for Australia between 1946 and 1948. He went on to become a physical education teacher and Professor at the University of Queensland. In 2003, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia "for service to education as a pioneer in the development of sports studies and sport science as academic disciplines". After his career as player he went to North America.
