Larry Cochell
Larry Cochell is a former American professional coach in NCAA Division I college baseball. He coached baseball for the Emporia State Hornets (then known as Kansas State Teachers College), the Creighton Bluejays, the Cal State Los Angeles Golden Eagles, the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, the Northwestern Wildcats, the Cal State Fullerton Titans, and the Oklahoma Sooners. Career He took three programs to the College World Series, doing so with Oral Roberts in 1978, Cal State Fullerton 1988 & 1990, and Oklahoma in 1992, 1994 & 1995, being the first coach to do so (with Ron Polk and Andy Lopez doing the feat in later years). He went 8–10 in six appearances. Emporia State Hornets Baseball
The Emporia State Hornets baseball team represents Emporia State University in NCAA Division II college baseball. The team participates in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The teams plays its home games on Glennen Field at Trusler Sports Complex, located just north of the Emporia State campus, and are coached by Brad Hill. History The second most successful era for ESU baseball was from 1974 to 1987, when the program was coached by former player Dave Bingham, who posted an overall record of 557–270–2 (), and won eight conference championships. From 1988 through the 2015 season, ESU's winning percentage increased to (943–530–1), and both Brian Embery and Bob Fornelli have a winning record with each having more than 450 wins. The 1994 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was played at the end of the 1994 NCAA Division I baseball season to determine the national champion of college baseball. NAIA World Series
The NAIA World Series (officially branded as the Avista NAIA World Series for sponsorship purposes from 2013) is a double-elimination tournament, held since 1957, to determine the baseball champion of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Since 2000, the tournament has been held at Harris Field on the campus of Lewis–Clark State College (LCSC) in Lewiston, Idaho, having previously hosted from 1984 to 1991. History A total of twelve cities have hosted the NAIA World Series. In 1957, the first edition of the series was held in Alpine, Texas, the home of inaugural champions, Sul Ross State. Sunny Golloway
Sunny Golloway (born in Springfield, Missouri) is the head baseball coach at NCAA Division II East Central University ( Ada, Okla.). His most recent stint as head baseball coach of a NCAA Division I institution was at Auburn. He was fired September 27, 2015. He succeeded coach John Pawlowski. Golloway was hired by Auburn University on June 14, 2013. Prior to becoming the head coach of Auburn, he was the head coach at Oklahoma. Coaching career Oral Roberts Golloway took over the Oral Roberts University baseball program in 1996 and saw their transition from a Division I Independent to a member of the Mid-Continent Conference in 1998. During his time with the university, the baseball team participated in NCAA Regionals from 1998 to 2003.
