Larkyn Austman
Larkyn Austman (born February 22, 1998) is a former competitive Canadian figure skater. She is the 2017 International Challenge Cup bronze medalist and the 2018 Canadian national bronze medalist. On the junior level, she is the 2013 Canadian junior national champion and the 2012 Canadian junior national silver medalist. She placed 25th at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Personal life Larkyn Austman was born February 22, 1998, in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. Her parents, Heather and Leonard, both competed in figure skating, and her older brother, Connor, played ice hockey. Her mother, formerly Heather Anderson, won the Canadian national novice ladies' title in 1974. Austman attended Hillcrest Middle School and Dr. Charles Best Secondary School in Coquitlam, graduating in June 2016. She became a vegan in June 2015. 2017 Skate Canada International
The 2017 Skate Canada International was the second event of the 2017–18 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series, held at the Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan from October 27–29. ISU Junior Grand Prix
The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating (titled the ISU Junior Series in the 1997–98 season) is a series of international junior-level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The series was inaugurated in 1997 to complement the senior-level ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. 2017 Canadian Figure Skating Championships
The 2017 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships was held January 16–22, 2017 in Ottawa, Ontario. It was organized by Skate Canada and sponsored by Canadian Tire. The event determined the national champions of Canada. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dancing on the senior, junior, and novice levels. Although the official International Skating Union terminology for female skaters in the singles category is ''ladies'', Skate Canada uses ''women'' officially. 2016–17 ISU Challenger Series
The 2016–17 ISU Challenger Series was held from September to December 2016. It was the third season of a group of senior-level international figure skating competitions ranked below the Grand Prix series. Regulations Skaters may enter a maximum of three competitions. After the starting orders are drawn for the short segment, skaters are considered as entered even if they withdraw. With the exception of the host, member nations are limited to three entries per discipline at each event. The International Skating Union requires each Challenger Series competition to include a minimum of three disciplines (from men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), at least ten countries represented in all disciplines combined, and a minimum number of entries and countries in each discipline. 2014–15 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2014–15 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 18th season of a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the 2014–15 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. At each event, skaters also earned points toward qualifying for the final. The top six skaters or teams from each discipline met at the 2014–15 Junior Grand Prix Final, held together with the senior final. Competitions The locations of the JGP events change yearly. Christy Krall
Christine "Christy" Haigler (married name: Krall, born January 5, 1948) is an American former competitive figure skater. She is the 1963 and 1965 U.S. silver medalist and 1964 bronze medalist. She represented the United States at the 1964 Winter Olympics, where she placed 7th. Krall graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School and Colorado College and trained at the Broadmoor Skating Club. She began coaching part-time at age 18 as an assistant to Carlo Fassi. From 1996 to 2002, Krall served as the senior director of athlete programs for U.S. Figure Skating and was a member of the delegation at the 2002 Winter Olympics in that capacity. She was one of the developers of the USFSA's moves in the field test structure. Krall coaches in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
