Lara Fútbol Club
The Lara Fútbol Club was a professional football club based in Barquisimeto, Lara, that was promoted to the Primera División in 1965, in their first year of existence. In 2012, due to strong financial problems, the team moved to the city of Los Teques, and subsequently to Caracas and changed its name to Metropolitanos Fútbol Club. Metropolitanos currently plays in the Venezuelan Primera División. History In the 1965 Copa Venezuela, the club was defeated by Valencia in the finals. In the 1966 Copa Libertadores, the club participated in the Group A with Boca Juniors, River Plate, Universitario, Deportivo Italia, and Alianza Lima, and was the last place with only four points. In the 1968 Copa Venezuela, the club was defeated by Unión Deportiva Canarias in the finals. In the 1979 Copa Venezuela, the club was defeated by Deportivo Galicia in the finals. Club Universitario de Deportes, popularly known as Universitario or simply as La "U", is a Peruvian football club located in Lima. The club was founded in 1924 under the name Federación Universitaria by students of the National University of San Marcos but was forced to rename in 1931. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the ''Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Latin American wars of independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''America's Liberators Cup''". The Copa Venezuela ( en, Venezuela Cup) is the national cup football competition of Venezuela. Organized by the Venezuelan Football Federation, it is contested in the second half of the season by the teams in the Primera División and Segunda División, excluding reserve teams competing in the lower tier. Deportivo Galicia
Deportivo Galicia Fútbol Club (later Galicia de Aragua) was a traditional football club from Venezuela. Founded in Caracas, the club moved, in 2002, to Maracay, in the state of Aragua, when its name changed to Galicia de Aragua, playing their home games at the Giuseppe Antonelli stadium in Maracay. Coached by the Uruguayan national Carlos MarÍa Ravel, the team switched from their traditional blue and white colours to the state's yellow and red and changed their name to Galicia de Aragua. At the end of the 2001–02 season, Deportivo Galicia was relegated to the Venezuelan Segunda Division.
