Lapush is an American rock band, formed in 2002 in St. Charles, Missouri. After releasing several singles and one EP independently, Lapush signed to New York-based label, 456 (Universal Music Group) in 2005. The label is co-owned by Carson Daly and Jonathan Rifkind. Their music features a melding of American and European influences. The band's discography consists of two studio albums, one EP and 10 singles. Lapush made their network television debut on ''Last Call with Carson Daly'' on NBC (December 2005) performing two songs; ''Quit You Now'' and ''Tout Le Monde''. Their debut album, ''Someplace Closer To Here'', reached No. 15 on the Alternative/Specialty Albums Chart. The second single from that record, ''Aurora'', reached No. 15 on the Alternative/Specialty Singles Chart and also appeared in the television show ''Moonlight'' on CBS. Thom Donovan (born Thomas Joseph Donovan; July 24, 1974 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer. He has released five solo albums and was the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band Lapush. His international performance career has included concerts across the United States as well as cities around the world. Donovan has performed with Brandi Carlile, Ruby Amanfu, Will Hoge, and worked with Wyclef Jean of The Fugees on his single, Shipwreck. Donovan's music frequently appears in film and television. He had a recurring role in the ABC musical drama series, ''Nashville'', as a musician. Stir (band)
Stir is a four piece alternative rock band from St. Louis, Missouri. History Formation and major label signing Stir was founded in 1994 as a three piece band at the University of Missouri, and consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Andy Schmidt, bassist Kevin Gagnepain, and drummer Brad Booker. Schmidt, Gagnepain and Booker had been in another band previous to Stir named "The Choice" and decided to form the band when that band's lead singer, Rick Smith, decided to no longer pursue a career in music. The band released a self-produced, independent LP titled "Until Now" in 1995 under its own label, Stir Music. Later that year, the band played at the South by Southwest festival. The band signed with the indie label Aware Records following the performance, subsequently releasing their eponymous debut album, ''Stir'' in 1996. Mississippi Nights
Mississippi Nights was a music club in St. Louis, Missouri. It opened on October 11, 1976 and was located at 914 N 1st Street, on the western bank of the Mississippi River, four blocks north of the Gateway Arch in Laclede's Landing. Concerts at the venue, which held up to 1,000 people, were often "all ages" events, with just over one percent restricted to patrons 21 and over. The club is the subject of a song on the album '' Venue Songs'' by They Might Be Giants. George Thorogood & the Destroyers' album '' Live: Let's Work Together'' features tracks recorded at Mississippi Nights. Closure In early 2003, rumors began circulating that the club would close to make way for Lumière Place, a new casino development. The Urge is an alternative rock band based in St. Louis, Missouri. XM Satellite Radio (XM) was one of the three satellite radio (SDARS) and online radio services in the United States and Canada, operated by Sirius XM Holdings. It provided pay-for-service radio, analogous to subscription cable television.
