Laois All-County Football League
The Laois All-County Football League (ACFL) is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by Laois GAA clubs. There are seven divisions and teams are promoted and relegated according to their league standing each year. Prior to the inception of the All-County Football League, league competitions titled the Senior Football League, Intermediate Football League and Junior Football League were in place. These would have roughly equated to the current top three or four divisions in the ACFL. St Joseph's GAA (Laois)
St Joseph's GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association Gaelic football club in County Laois, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It won nine Laois Senior Football Championship titles between 1973 and 2000. The club colours are yellow with blue trim and the main club grounds are located at Kellyville with a secondary grounds at Milltown. History Founded in 1954 as an underage club, it won the Laois minor and junior football titles in 1967, the minor title again in 1968, the Laois Intermediate Football Championship in 1969 and a further junior title in 1976. Then St Joseph's progressed to win nine Laois Senior Football Championship titles: in 1973, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1983, 1989, 1994, 1996 and 2000. Annanough GAA
Annanough GAA is a Gaelic football club in County Laois, Ireland. History Annanough was founded in 1920 from a merger of the old Vicarstown and Moyanna clubs. Moyanna had won the 1891 Laois Senior Football Championship title while Vicarstown were Laois Intermediate Football Championship winners in 1917 and 1919. Success wasn't long coming the new club's way with the legendary Dick Miller captaining Annanough to a three-in-a-row of Laois Senior Football Championship titles from 1924 to 1926. Another great Annanough team emerged in the 1950s to take two more Laois Senior Football Championship titles. Names like the Nerneys, Dunnes, Terry O’Connell, Ronan Donlan, Tom Gorman, the Murphys and of course the Millers backboned both club and county team at this time. The Harps GAA
The Harps GAA is a hurling, Gaelic football and camogie club in County Laois, Ireland. It is a combination of players from the villages of Cullohill and Durrow. Hurling and camogie are the dominant sports in the club but, the club also fields football teams. The club colours are yellow with red trim, and its grounds are in Durrow and Cullohill. History The club was formed in 1984 as an amalgamation of the old clubs of Durrow and Cullohill. In their very first year, the club reached the Laois Senior Hurling Championship final but lost to Portlaoise in a replay. Kilcavan GAA
Kilcavan GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association gaelic football club in County Laois, Ireland. History Founded in 1946, the club colours are maroon and white. The club grounds are situated near the villages of Killeigh and Geashill which are on the other side of the Offaly border. Derek O'Connell in 1995 became the first and to date only Kilcavan player to play for Laois at senior championship level. Kilcavan has won four Laois Junior Football Championship titles (1960, 1993, 2004 and 2013) as well as the Laois Junior "B" Football Championship title in 1984. Rosenallis GAA
Rosenallis Gaelic Athletic Association club is a hurling and Gaelic football club in the village of Rosenallis in County Laois, Ireland. The club colours are green and white. The club formerly amalgamated with the Clonaslee–St Manman's club to play senior hurling under the name Tinnahinch. Seamus Dooley, Declan Conroy and John Lennon are three of the club's most famous players, representing Laois at senior hurling level. Ballyfin GAA
Ballyfin GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling and gaelic football club located in the village of Ballyfin in County Laois, Ireland. The club colours are green and white. The club grounds are at Cappinrush, beside Ballyfin's Roman Catholic church. The current Laois senior football player James Finn is a member of the club as is Oliver Phelan who managed Laois to their 1996 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship. Park–Ratheniska GAA
Park–Ratheniska GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association gaelic football and hurling club in County Laois, Ireland. The club was founded in 1981 after the amalgamation of Park Football Club and Ratheniska Hurling Club. The club's colours are green and gold. The club has competed at senior level in both hurling and Gaelic football and has a juvenile section, catering for both boys and girls in hurling and football from U6 up to U21. History Origins Gaelic Athletic Association has always played a role in Park–Ratheniska, dating back to a Ratheniska team in 1913, where the first signs of Gaelic football in the area can be traced. Ballyroan Abbey GAA
Ballyroan Abbey GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association gaelic football club in County Laois, Ireland. History The original Ballyroan GAA club was founded in 1887. The club colours were originally royal blue with a dominant white V on the front, later being changed to sky blue and navy. The Ballyroan GAA club won eight Laois Senior Football Championship titles in its own right, the most recent of which was in 1992. Ballyroan Gaels was a temporary amalgamation of the two neighbouring clubs, Abbeyleix and Ballyroan. This amalgamation was made permanent in 2007, when they became known as Ballyroan Abbey GAA.
