Laning Harvey (February 17, 1882 – August 4, 1942) was an American politician from Pennsylvania who served as a Republican member of the Pennsylvania Senate for the 21st district from 1929 to 1936. Early life and education He was born on February 17, 1882, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to William Jameson and Amanda (Laning) Harvey. He was educated at Wilkes-Barre Academy and graduated from The Hill School in 1903. Business career Harvey was a director at the Miners Savings Bank and was the founder and vice president of the Henry German Company. William Cameron Sproul
William Cameron Sproul (September 16, 1870 – March 21, 1928) was an American politician from Pennsylvania who served as a Republican member of the Pennsylvania State Senate from 1897 to 1919 and as the 27th Governor of Pennsylvania from 1919 to 1923. He also served as chair of the National Governors Association from 1919 to 1922. Early life and education Sproul was born at John Douglass House to William Hall and Deborah Dickinson (Slokom) Sproul in Colerain Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania on September 16, 1870. The family relocated to Chester, Pennsylvania in 1883, and Sproul graduated from Chester High School in 1887. Martin Brumbaugh
Martin Grove Brumbaugh (April 14, 1862March 14, 1930) was an American Republican politician who served as the 26th Governor of Pennsylvania from 1915 until 1919. He is frequently referred to as M.G. Brumbaugh, as is common in the Brumbaugh family. He was president of Juniata College and the first education commissioner for Puerto Rico. Life and career Brumbaugh was born in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. He grew up in rural Huntingdon County and worked in the combination country store-post office that was operated by his father. He was raised in a small pacifist faith with German roots, the German Baptist Brethren, popularly called Dunkers. Brumbaugh attended Huntingdon Normal School, graduating in 1881.
