Hulu Langat District is a district located in the southeastern corner of Selangor, between Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan. It is bordered by the state of Pahang to the east and north, Gombak district to the north-west, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Petaling district to the west, Sepang district to the south-west, and state of Negeri Sembilan to the south. 2011 Hulu Langat Landslide
The 2011 Hulu Langat landslide was a landslide attributed to heavy rain that occurred on the afternoon of 21 May 2011, at Kampung Gahal in the district of Hulu Langat at Selangor, Malaysia. The landslide struck an orphanage nearby, killing 16 people, including 13 children. Background The Hidayah Madrasah Al-Taqwa orphanage was located at Semungkis River Road at Kampung Gahal, part of FELCRA Semungkis. The region, a hilly rural area, is vulnerable to landslides. The landslide occurred at 2:20 pm local time and had only affected the orphanage building. Istana Daerah Hulu Langat
The Istana Daerah Hulu Langat is a palace in Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia, located near apartments along Jalan Kosas Utama, opposite the Ampang Waterfront. It is the official residence of the Yang-Amat Berbahagia Tengku Mahkota of Hulu Langat, a member of the Selangor royal family. The palace was built in 1990 and has been undergoing major renovations since 2010. It will reopen at the end of 2012.
