Landy Mertz
Lauren Landy Mertz (born July 19, 2000) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for the North Carolina Courage of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She played college soccer for the Dayton Flyers and Pittsburgh Panthers. She was selected by the Courage in the 2024 NWSL Draft. Early life Mertz grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the youngest of four children born to Kelly () and Rob Mertz. Her father played college soccer for Grove City College; her brother Robbie has played professionally for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Atlanta United 2; and her brother Ryan played in college for Delaware. Mertz recorded 56 goals and 30 assists in her high school career at Upper St. Clair High School. The North Carolina Courage is a professional women's soccer team based in Cary, North Carolina. It was founded on January 9, 2017, after Stephen Malik acquired National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) franchise rights from the Western New York Flash. The Courage is affiliated with the men's team North Carolina FC of the United Soccer League and plays its home games at the Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park. 2023 ACC Women's Soccer Tournament
The 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference women's soccer tournament was the post season women's soccer tournament for the Atlantic Coast Conference and was held from October 29 through November 5, 2023. The five-match tournament took place at campus sites for the quarterfinals and Sahlen's Stadium in Cary, North Carolina for the semifinals and final. The higher seed hosted the campus site matches. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Florida State Seminoles were the three-time defending champions. The Florida State Seminoles women's soccer team represents Florida State University (variously Florida State or FSU) in the sport of college soccer. Randy Marlon Waldrum (born September 25, 1956) is an American former professional soccer player, the current head coach of University of Pittsburgh Panthers women's soccer team and is the current head coach of the Nigeria women's national team on October 5, 2020. The Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I. US Club Soccer is a national organization and member of the United States Soccer Federation that works to develop and support soccer clubs in the United States.
