Montagnard () is an umbrella term for the various indigenous peoples of the Central Highlands (Vietnam), Central Highlands of Vietnam. The French language, French term () signifies a mountain dweller, and is a carryover from the French Indochina, French colonial period in Vietnam. In Vietnamese language, Vietnamese, they are known by the term người Thượng (), although this term can also be applied to other List of ethnic groups in Vietnam, minority ethnic groups in Vietnam. The 22nd Field Artillery Regiment is a Field Artillery regiment of the United States Army. History The 22d Field Artillery Regiment was constituted on 18 May 1918 as Battery A, Separate Battalion of Mountain Artillery. The unit was organized at Corozal Canal Zone on 10 July 1918. The unit was redesignated on 1 July 1921 as Battery A, 22d Field Artillery. On 15 September 1921, the unit was inactivated in the Canal Zone. The unit was assigned to the 4th Division from 23 July 1929 until 7 December 1929. The battalion was then assigned to the 6th Division until 2 October 1939. The 92nd Field Artillery Regiment is an inactive parent regiment of the Field Artillery Branch of the United States Army. It was constituted in 1933, with its last active battalions, the 1st and 3rd Battalions, inactivated in 1996. History Interwar period The regiment was constituted on 1 October 1933 in the Regular Army as the 92nd Field Artillery. It was assigned to VIII Corps's 18th Field Artillery Brigade and allotted to the Eighth Corps Area. Bu Prang Camp (also known as Bu Prang Special Forces Camp) is a former U.S. Army and Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) base in Quang Duc Province 5km from the Vietnam-Cambodia border. History The base was located on Route 14, in Tuy Đức district 5 km south of the Cambodian border.
