Landerd () is a former municipality within the province of North Brabant in the southern Netherlands. Since 2022 it has been part of the new municipality of Maashorst. Maashorst is a municipality in the province of North Brabant, the Netherlands, formed from the merger of Landerd and Uden. The municipality came into existence on 1 January 2022. Schaijk
Schaijk is a town in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the former municipality of Landerd, about southeast of Oss. History Schaijk developed in the Middle Ages on the border of the sand and clay land. It was part of the which became a Catholic enclave of Palatinate-Neuburg within the Dutch Republic in 1631. The Land van Ravenstein was conquered by France in 1794, and sold to the Batavian Republic (the predecessor of the Kingdom of the Netherlands) in 1800. The St Antonius Abt Church was built between 1894 and 1895 to replace the medieval church. Between 1901 and 1902, a new wall was built around the 15th century tower and the tower and enlarged. Schaijk was home to 536 people in 1840. Reek, Netherlands
Reek is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the former municipality of Landerd, about 3 km east of Schaijk. History Reek developed as a stretched out village in the Middle Ages. It used to be part of the which became a Catholic enclave of Palatinate-Neuburg within the Dutch Republic in 1631. The land van Ravenstein was conquered by France in 1794, and sold to the Batavian Republic (the predecessor of the Kingdom of the Netherlands) in 1800. The former nunnery St Elisabeth was founded in 1857 by the Sister Penitenten from Haaren. The St Anthonius Abt Church was built in 1925 and 1926 and has the tower in the corner. It replaced an 1823 church. The grist mill Hellemolen was built in 1832. In 1948, it was put up for sale and the interior and part of the exterior were sold. Uden-Veghel
Uden-Veghel is a polycentric metropolitan area, centred on the towns of Uden and Veghel, in the east of the province of North Brabant in the southern Netherlands. It consists of the neighbouring municipalities of Maashorst (merger of Uden and Landerd in 2022) and Meierijstad (merger of Schijndel, Sint-Oedenrode, and Veghel in 2017) with the surrounding municipalities of Bernheze and Boekel. The province of North Brabant established the partnership in 2002 for spatial planning purposes, and stated that the municipalities of Uden and Veghel are complementary to each other. Tonnie Dirks
Antonius Marinus Hendricus Maria "Tonnie" Dirks (born 12 February 1961 in Zeeland, North Brabant) is a Dutch former long distance runner. He competed internationally on the track, road, and also in cross country competitions. He ran in the Marathon at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo, finishing in 16th place with a time of 2:22:17. That year he also competed in the IAAF World Cross Country Championships, but he only managed to finish in 29th position. The following year he competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics, but he did not finish in the Olympic Marathon race. At the Amsterdam Marathon in 1993, he took second behind Kenichi Suzuki with a time of 2:12:27. He was highly successful at the Warandeloop cross country race: he won in 1984, 1985, 1988, 1990, and 1993, making him the runner with the most titles ever won at the competition. Uden
Uden () is a town and former municipality in the province of North Brabant, Netherlands. Since 2022 it has been part of the new municipality of Maashorst. History Uden was first recorded around 1190 as "Uthen". However, earlier settlements have been found in the areas of the modern day Moleneind, Vorstenburg and Bitswijk and evidence of Ice Age settlements has been found near the hamlet of Slabroek. From 1324 Uden was ruled by the Valkenburg house and became a part of the . After 1397 it became a part of the German duchy of Cleves. Thijs Ploegmakers performing as Adaro, is a Dutch DJ and producer. In the past he produced several electronic music styles, for example in 2002 he was part of Driftwood (best known for their worldwide radio hit “Freeloader”). In 2008 he started producing hardstyle, and he is considered one of the originators of the raw hardstyle subgenre.
