Lander Bearcats
The Lander Bearcats are the athletic teams that represent Lander University, located in Greenwood, South Carolina, in intercollegiate sports at the Division II level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), primarily competing in the Peach Belt Conference since the 1990–91 academic year. The Bearcats compete as members of the Peach Belt Conference for 14 of their current varsity sports. Lander has been a member of the Peach Belt since 1990 and has won 26 PBC Tournament championships while winning or sharing 36 regular-season titles. Women's lacrosse plays in the Gulf South Conference, while men's rugby is part of the Southern Rugby Conference. The acrobatics & tumbling and wrestling teams compete in Conference Carolinas and the field hockey program is part of South Atlantic Conference. Lander University
Lander University is a public university in Greenwood, South Carolina. Campus and housing Lander University is located approximately one half-mile from uptown Greenwood, South Carolina. The main campus sits on 190 acres of land, though this does not include its many off-campus locations. Lander University has ten residence halls. Residence halls include Bearcat Village, Brookside, Centennial Hall, Chipley Hall, Lide Apartments, McGhee Court, New Hall, Thomason, University Place, and Williamston. In July 2021, Lander announced that the state legislature has appropriated new funding for the University, which includes money that will be used to construct a nursing building on Lander's campus in Greenwood. NCAA Men's Division II Tennis Championship
The NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championship is an annual men's college tennis national collegiate championship sponsored by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for teams in Division II. Unlike the championships for Division I and Division III, this tournament crowns only a team champion. Individual and doubles titles were contested from 1963 to 1994 before being discontinued. Lander, with eight titles, is the most successful program. The current champions are Barry, who won their fifth title in 2021. Tom Marriott
Tom Marriott (born 13 December 1998) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for North Carolina Fusion U23. Playing career Marriott made his debut for Mansfield Town in a 1–0 win over Port Vale on 4 October 2016, in an EFL Trophy group stage game at Vale Park. He was released at the end of the season having failed to make any further appearances. In 2019, he enrolled at Lander University playing college soccer. Stephen Magennis
Stephen "Steo" Magennis is an Irish former footballer who is an assistant coach at Georgia Gwinnett College. Youth & education A native of Dublin, Ireland, Magennis came to the U.S. on a soccer scholarship to Darton State Community College (NJCAA) and completed his Associate of Arts degree (2005–2007). Upon graduating, he transferred to Lander University playing his final two years of eligibility and graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science (2007–2009). Luke MacAuley Jordan (born 21 November 1998) is an English footballer who played as a winger for the Lander Bearcats Career Jordan was born in Burnley, Lancashire and attended Unity College. He began his career with Morecambe and made his professional debut on 7 January 2017 in a 4–1 victory against Notts County at the Globe Arena. Richard Bryan (born 13 September 1995) is an English semi-professional footballer who last played for club Ware as a defender. A product of the Brentford and Enfield Town youth systems, Bryan played lower league football in the United States between 2018 and 2022, most notably for Saint Louis and Detroit City. Hawaii Pacific Sharks
The Hawaii Pacific Sharks are the 13 varsity athletic teams that represent Hawaii Pacific University, located in Honolulu, Hawaii, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The North Florida Ospreys are the athletic teams of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. The Ospreys compete in the ASUN Conference in NCAA Division I.
