Alfred Landé
Alfred Landé (13 December 1888 – 30 October 1976) was a German-American physicist known for his contributions to quantum theory. He is responsible for the Landé g-factor and an explanation of the Zeeman effect. Life and achievements Alfred Landé was born on 13 December 1888 in Elberfeld, Rhineland, Germany, today part of the city of Wuppertal. In 1913 Landé was sent by Arnold Sommerfeld, his thesis advisor at the University of Munich, to be a special assistant for physics to David Hilbert at the University of Göttingen, to replace Paul Peter Ewald, whom Sommerfeld had sent to the same position in 1912. There, Landé also came in close contact with Max Born. In physics, it was the era of the Bohr atom model. The leaders of Göttingen science included many greats that Landé was to come in contact with including Hilbert, Edmund Landau, Carl Runge and Ludwig Prandtl (the noted aerodynamics theoreticist). Jean-Baptiste Landé
Jean-Baptiste Landé (died 26 February 1748) was a French ballet dancer, active in Sweden, Denmark and Russia. He is the founder of the Russian Ballet Mariinsky Ballet. Sweden Landé was employed at the Polish royal court in Dresden when he was engaged by King Frederick I of Sweden in 1721. He was appointed dancing master of the Swedish court and in 1723 he became the director of the French Opera-Theatre in Bollhuset in Stockholm, which he named ''L'Académie royale de musique et de danse''. In 1726, he was a guest ballet master at the first theatre in Denmark, the Lille Grönnegade theatre (1722-1728), where he performed with his wife. Jørn Marumsrud Lande (born May 31, 1968) is a Norwegian hard rock and heavy metal singer and songwriter. He is known for his work with the bands Ark, Beyond Twilight, Millenium, Vagabond, The Snakes, and most notably with power metal band Masterplan. He is also the most recurrent guest singer of the international supergroup Avantasia, and has worked as lead and guest singer in several projects. Currently, he is focusing his activities on his solo project Jorn. In 2014, Lande was hired by Riot Games to be the voice of the character Karthus, of the fictional heavy metal band Pentakill (''League of Legends''). Nathaniel Lande, born of Canadian parents, is a journalist, author, and filmmaker with a career spanning several decades. He is the author of ten books including ''Cricket'' and ''Dispatches from the Front: A History of the American War Correspondent'', and was a creative force behind Time Inc. during his tenure. The holder of two patents, he is credited for creating the Electronic Book and the Bookbank, a computerized electronic storage and retrieval system.
