Lancaster Inferno (NPSL)
Lancaster Inferno (NPSL) was an American men's soccer team based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States. Founded in 2008, the team played in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), a national amateur league at the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid for just one season, until 2008, when the franchise folded and the team left the league. The team played its home games in the athletic stadium at Hempfield High School in nearby Landisville, Pennsylvania. The team's colors were orange, black, and white. The team was part of the larger Pennsylvania Classics organization, which hosts 36 teams from the under 9 group for boys and girls, to the under 19 for young men and women and represents the South Central Pennsylvania and greater Philadelphia areas. Hempfield High School
Hempfield High School is a public senior high school located in Salunga-Landisville, Pennsylvania, United States. It serves both East and West Hempfield townships and serves as the only high school for Hempfield School District. The Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) is an amateur women's soccer league in the United States and Canada. It is the top amateur league for women's soccer in the United States soccer pyramid, below only National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The WPSL is the longest-running active women's soccer league as it enters its 23rd season in 2021 – the 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The WPSL is also the largest women's soccer league in the United States, North America and the world with 135 active teams. The WPSL started as the Western Division of the W-League, before breaking away to form its own league in 1998. Drew Cost (born January 31, 1989, in West Chester, Pennsylvania) is an American soccer player. Career College and amateur Cost attended Henderson High School, played in the Pennsylvania Olympic Development Program, and played club soccer for the Pennsylvania Classics, before going on to play four years of college soccer at the Pennsylvania State University. At Penn State he was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team in 2007, was a two-time All-Big Ten Second Team selection in both 2009 and 2010, and in his senior was a CoSIDA/ESPN Second Team Academic All-District selection and was named to the Wolstein Classic All-Tournament Team. Steve Klein (born May 11, 1975) is an American soccer coach and former professional player, who spent one season in Major League Soccer and eleven in the USL First Division and its predecessors. On January 20, 2010, he was ranked 24th in the USL First Division Top 25 of the Decade, which announced a list of the best and most influential players of the previous decade. Player Youth Klein was born in Evansville, Indiana, and attended Brentwood High School in Brentwood, TN and Bowling Green State University in Ohio, where he started all four years and earned first team All-American honors his senior year.
