Lament For The Weary
''Lament for the Weary'' is Christian thrash metal band Seventh Angel's second studio album, released in 1992 on Music for Nations. The album saw the band incorporating doom metal elements to thrash. The album garnered generous reviews from British music press at the time. Recording history The album was recorded during 4–16 July 1991 at ICC Studios with producer Roy Rowland. The album was mixed during 1–10 August 1991. The cover art was done by British fantasy artist Rodney Matthews. On the album, the style changed to a more progressive and atmospheric combination of doom metal and thrash. The guitars were tuned down to D, and the compositions include acoustic passages such as on the title track, driven with a samples of raining to create a melancholic atmosphere. Seventh Angel
Seventh Angel are an English Christian metal band that formed in 1987 in Halesowen, West Midlands. The band was known for its combination of doom metal and thrash metal. The band initially released two albums, ''The Torment'' (1990) and '' Lament for the Weary'' (1992), before disbanding; these records achieved mainstream distribution through the Music for Nations label, making Seventh Angel label mates with such groups as Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth. ''The Daily Telegraph'' called Seventh Angel "one of the leading Christian thrash metal bands in Great Britain." The band headlined the Metal Meltdown festival in 1990, played concerts in Germany and the Netherlands, and they were featured on both Channel 4 and BBC TV for several live performances of their Greenbelt Festival concerts. Thrash Metal

Doom Metal
Doom metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music that typically uses slower tempos, low-tuned guitars and a much "thicker" or "heavier" sound than other heavy metal genres.K. Music For Nations
Music For Nations (MFN) is a British independent record label focusing mainly on rock and metal. It was a subsidiary of the larger label distributor Zomba Records, which was a division of BMG and later Sony Music Entertainment. Launched in 1983 by Martin Hooker, Music For Nations established itself as a European leader in the rock and metal world, with early signings like Tank, Exciter, Metallica (who had three gold albums while on MFN), Slayer and Megadeth paving the way. As MFN grew, the company expanded its operation to include not just licensed acts from the United States, but its own signings. It released albums by artists including Paradise Lost, Opeth, Anathema, Cradle of Filth, Testament and countless other metal bands. Retroactive Records
Retroactive Records is an independent record label in Keokuk, Iowa. The label was founded in 2002 by Matt Hunt, who had previously operated a small label called Magdalene Records. The Torment
''The Torment'' is the debut studio album by the British Christian thrash metal band Seventh Angel, released on Music for Nations in 1990. The album established the band as "one of England's leading thrash metal bands" by ''The Daily Telegraph''. In 2010, ''HM Magazine'' ranked it number 51 on the Top 100 Christian Metal Albums of All Time list. Recording After signing with Under One Flag, a subsidiary label of Music for Nations, Seventh Angel recorded the debut at Mad Hat Studios, Wolverhampton, with producer Paul Hodson. The cover art was done by Rodney Matthews. The album features plenty of tempo changes, progressive elements and considerable amount of death/thrash leanings. Cross Rhythms is a Christian media organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent, England. It operates an FM and online radio station, produces radio shows sent internationally, and its website has resources about contemporary Christian music. History 1983–2002 In 1983, Chris Cole started a 30-minute weekly Christian music radio show on Plymouth Sound FM, an Independent Local Radio station in Plymouth. Originally titled ''The Solid Rock of Jesus Christ'', the programme aired on Sunday evenings. Rodney Matthews
Rodney Matthews (born 6 July 1945) is a British illustrator and conceptual designer of fantasy and science-fiction. Career Trained at the West of England College of Art, Matthews worked in advertising for Plastic Dog Graphics before turning freelance in 1970, initially under the name Skyline Studios. Matthews has painted over 140 subjects for record album covers, for many rock and progressive rock bands. More than 90 of his pictures have been published worldwide, selling in poster format, as well as many international editions of calendars, jigsaw puzzles, postcards, notecards, snowboards and T-shirts. His originals have been exhibited throughout the UK and Europe. He has been a regular exhibitor at the Chris Beetles Gallery, in London's West End, where he met English comedian, actor, writer and producer John Cleese, an avid collector of his work. Ian Arkley is a British heavy metal guitarist and singer. His current band is the UK gothic doom metal outfit My Silent Wake. Biography Arkley first gained attention as a member (and leader) of Christian thrash metal band Seventh Angel. Signed to Under One Flag, Seventh Angel released first album ''The Torment'' (1990), followed by ''Lament for the Weary'' (1992). After Seventh Angel split, Arkley formed Ashen Mortality, adopting a doomier style mixed with mediaeval influences and some death vocals. Ashen Mortality self-released two albums, ''Sleepless Remorse'' and ''Your Caress''. Arkley was briefly a member of the Australian doom band Paramaecium and recorded the album ''A Time to Mourn'' with them.
