Lambrate is a station on Line 2 of the Milan Metro in the Lambrate district of Milan. It was opened on 27 September 1969 as part of the inaugural section of Line 2, between Cascina Gobba and Caiazzo. The Azienda Trasporti Milanesi (ATM) is the municipal public transport company of Milan and 46 surrounding metropolitan municipalities. Line 2 (''Linea Due'' in Italian language, Italian), is a subway line serving Milan, Italy, operated by Azienda Trasporti Milanesi, ATM as part of the Milan Metro. It is also called the Green Line, (''Linea Verde'' in Italian), as it is visually identified by green signs. The line runs from the southern to the north-eastern neighborhoods passing through the city centre, serving the north-eastern metropolitan area with two different branches. Lambrate
Lambrate ( lmo, Lambraa ) is a district (''quartiere'') of Milan, Italy, located within the Zone 3 administrative division, north-east of the city centre. It owes its name to the Lambro river that traverses the area. Lambrate houses one of the major railway stations of north-eastern Milan, the Stazione di Milano Lambrate. Cascina Gobba (Milan Metro)
Cascina Gobba is a station on Line 2 of the Milan Metro. The station is located on Via Padova at the west side of the A51 Milan bypass road. This is beside the major highway interchange known as ''Cascina Gobba'', which is the main vehicular transportation hub of northeast Milan, Italy. The line branches here to terminate at either Cologno Nord or Gessate. The station takes its name from Cascina Gobba, a nearby rural village. MeLA, a fully automated people mover opened in 1999, connects the station to the San Raffaele Hospital.
