The Lamborghini Veneno () is a limited production high performance sports car manufactured by Italian automobile manufacturer Lamborghini. Based on the Lamborghini Aventador, the Veneno was developed to celebrate Lamborghini's 50th anniversary. It was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show#2013, 2013 Geneva Motor Show. When introduced, it had a price of , making it one of the List of automotive superlatives, most expensive production cars in the world. Specifications The engine is a development of the list of Volkswagen Group petrol engines#6.5 V12 48v (L539) (Lamborghini), Aventador's 6.5-litre V12 and generates a power output of at 8,400 rpm and of torque at 5,500 rpm. Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. () is an Italian brand and manufacturer of luxury sports cars and SUVs based in Sant'Agata Bolognese. A Le Mans Prototype (LMP) is the type of sports prototype race car used in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA SportsCar Championship, European Le Mans Series and Asian Le Mans Series. Le Mans Prototypes were created by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The technical requirements for an LMP include bodywork covering all mechanical elements of the car. Currently, there are three classes within Le Mans Prototypes, designated LMP1, LMP2, and LMP3. While not as fast as open-wheel Formula One cars around a track, LMP1s were the fastest closed-wheel racing cars used in circuit racing.
