Lalita Sahasranama
''Lalita Sahasranama'' (IAST: lalitāsahasranāma; Sanskrit: ललिता सहस्रनाम) is a sacred Hindu text from the Brahmanda Purana which lists the thousand names of the Hindu mother goddess Lalita Devi, a manifestation of the Divine Mother (Shakti), and is therefore recited in the worship of Devi according to Srikula Sampradayas. A principal text of Shakti worshipers, it describes the goddess' various attributes in the form of names organized in a hymn. This ''sahasranama'' is used in various modes of worship of the Divine Mother such as ''parayana'' (recitations), archana, and homa. A different but less popular version of the Lalita Sahasranama can also be found in the purva bhaga of the Narada Purana. Lalitha (actress)
Lalitha (16 December 1930 – 1982) was an Indian actress and dancer. She was the eldest of the " Travancore Sisters"—Lalitha, Padmini, and Ragini. She started her acting career in the 1948 Tamil film '' Adhithan Kanavu'' and has acted in movies of different Indian languages including Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. She entered films before her sisters, concentrating more on Malayalam films, and was mostly cast in vamp roles. Personal life She was born to Thangappan Pillai and Saraswathi Amma on 16 December 1930 at Thiruvananthapuram. She is the aunt of actress Shobana. Malayalam actress Ambika Sukumaran is her relative. Tripura Sundari
Tripura Sundari (Sanskrit: त्रिपुरा सुन्दरी, IAST: Tripura Sundarī), also known as Rajarajeshwari, Shodashi, Kamakshi, and Lalita is a Hindu goddess, worshipped as a principal aspect of supreme goddess Mahadevi mainly venerated in Shaktism, the goddess-oriented sect of Hinduism. She is also one of the ten Mahavidyas. She is praised in many Shakta texts, with '' Lalita Sahasranama, Soundarya Lahari'' being the most popular one. She is known as Adi Parashakti in Lalitopakhyana of Brahmanda Purana. Sir Lalitha Abhaya Rajapaksa, QC (born Louis Alexander Rajapakse; 3 May 1900 – 25 May 1976) was a Ceylonese lawyer and politician. The ''Lalitavistara Sūtra'' is a Sanskrit Mahayana sutras, Mahayana Buddhist sutra that tells the story of Gautama Buddha from the time of his descent from Tushita until his first sermon in the Deer Park at Sarnath near Varanasi. The term ''Lalitavistara'' has been translated "The Play in Full" or "Extensive Play," referring to the Mahayana view that the Buddha's last incarnation was a "display" or "performance" given for the benefit of the beings in this world. Lalita Gauri Mandir
Lalita Gauri Mandir ( hi, ललिता गौरी मंदिर), also known as Lalita Mata Mandir, is one of the important and historic temples in the holy city of Varanasi. This temple has great religious importance in Hinduism and is dedicated to the goddess Lalita Gauri (form of Goddess Parvati). The Mandir was constructed in early 19th century. The temple was constructed between 1800–1804 by Rana Bahadur Shah. Lalita Gauri Mandir is situated on the Lalita Ghat and the ghat was named after this temple. History King of Nepal, Rana Bahadur Shah took exile in Varanasi from 1800 to 1804 and titled himself as "Swami Nirgunanda". Lalitha is a raga in Carnatic music (musical scale of South Indian classical music). It is a ''janya'' raga of ''Mayamalavagowla'', the 15th ''Melakarta'' raga. It is closely related to ''Vasantha'', as the two share many characteristic ''prayogas'' and have similar scales. Lalita Yauhleuskaya (born 31 December 1963 in Sokol, Russia) is a professional sporting shooter who won a bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney representing Belarus and currently represents Australia in international competition. Yauhleuskaya began competitive shooting at age 13. In 1986, representing the Soviet Union, she finished 5th in the women's 10 metre air pistol at the ISSF World Shooting Championships in Suhl, Germany. Ten years later she was selected in the Belarusian team for the Atlanta Olympics where she placed 8th in the 10m air pistol. Four years later she picked up her bronze medal in the women's 25 metre pistol at the Sydney Olympics. Lalita Shastri
Lalita Shastri (born Lalmani Devi; 11 January 1910 – 13 April 1993) was the wife of Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri. Lalita Devi was from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. She married Lal Bahadur Shastri on 16 May 1928. After marriage, the couple lived for several years in Allahabad before moving to Lucknow and then to New Delhi. Lal Bahadur Shastri spent nine years of his life in jail. During these spells, Lalita looked after the children and household. The family moved to New Delhi in 1952 when Shastri became the railway minister. However they vacated the premises after his death.
