Lali (tribe)
The Lali, sometimes written as Lalee, are a Jat clan, found mainly in the Chiniot district of Punjab, Pakistan. History The Lali are one of a number of Jat clans that have lived in the Kirana Bar for centuries. They are mostly landlords and influential people. The Jat people ((), ()) are a traditionally agricultural community in Northern India and Pakistan. Originally pastoralists in the lower Indus river-valley of Sindh, Jats migrated north into the Punjab region in late medieval times, and subsequently into the Delhi Territory, northeastern Rajputana, and the western Gangetic Plain in the 17th and 18th centuries. Ghulam Muhammad Lali
Ghulam Muhammad Lali (; born 4 March 1968) is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since February 2024 and previously served in this position from June 2013 till May 2018 and August 2018 till August 2023. He is also the tribal chief of the Lali clan. Early life He was born on 4 March 1968. He completed his studies from Sargodha and Lahore. Political career He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) from Constituency NA-87 (Chiniot-II Cum-Jhang) in 2013 Pakistani general election. Chiniot District ( Punjabi and ur, ), became the 36th district of the Punjab province of Pakistan in February 2009. Before this, it was a tehsil of Jhang District. History Chiniot region was an agricultural region with forests during the Indus Valley civilization. Lalian Tehsil
Lalian Tehsil ( ur, ) is a tehsil of the Chiniot District and a city in Punjab, Pakistan. It is located on Sargodha road, 22 km from Chiniot. It became a tehsil of Chiniot District on 2 February 2009. Prior to this, it was a known as town in the Chiniot Tehsil and now with the addition of 12 more union councils it has become a Tehsil with a large amount of population in towns and villages.
