Lakshman Wijesekara
Ravindranath Lakshman de Alwis Wijesekera ( si, ලක්ෂ්මන් විජේසේකර; 14 March 1948 – 12 November 2021), popularly as Lakshman Wijesekara, was a Sri Lankan singer, composer, actor, director of advertising and teacher by profession. One of the most respected artists in Sri Lanka, Lakshman has excelled in both music and acting in a career spanned more than five decades. Personal life Wijesekara was born on 14 March 1948 to Walter Wijesekera and Daisy Wijesekera. His father was once a student at Shanti Niketan and was a musician as well as a connoisseur. He was a regular public servant in the local government service and could not continue in his music career. According to his father's job, Lakshman had to move from place to place in Sri Lanka from 5 years where he attended several schools. DR. Rohana Weerasinghe (born February 18, 1949), is a Sri Lankan musician, composer and singer. Early life Weerasinghe was born on 18 February 1949 in Algiriya, Matara in southern Sri Lanka. He was the youngest child to his parents Henry Weerasinghe and Sepalin Weerasinghe. In 1954, Weerasinghe started schooling from Good Shepard Family Convent in Nuwara Eliya, and later moved to Vidyachakra Buddhist School Ruwan Eliya, Welimada Maha Vidyalaya, Pannipitya Dharmapala Vidyalaya and Gamini Maha Vidyalaya Nuwara Eliya. In 1977, Weerasinghe married to Leela Beatrice De Silva, a dancing teacher in profession. They had two sons, Kalindu Gajaba and Chirath Kanishka. Chandralekha Perera ( si, චන්ද්රලේඛා පෙරේරා) (born 1 December 1961), is a popular Sri Lankan pop singer. Personal life Perera was born to a middle-class family in Kurunegala.
