Professor Lakshman Marasinghe is a Sri Lankan academic and lawyer. An Emeritus Professor, Emeritus Professor of Law of the University of Windsor, he is the current Chairman of the Law Commission of Sri Lanka and was the Legal Director of the Secretariat for Coordinating the Peace Process during the Sri Lankan Civil War. Sri Lanka Law College (abbreviated as SLLC), formerly known as Ceylon Law College, is a law college, and the only legal institution where one can enroll as a attorney-at-law in Sri Lanka. It was established in 1874, under the then Council of Legal Education, in order to impart a formal legal education to those who wished to become advocates and proctors in Ceylon. The main building of the college was constructed in 1911. It is located on Hulftsdorp Street in Colombo, Sri Lanka. As of late 2021, the current principal is Dr. Athula Pathinayake.
