A lake is an area filled with water, localized in a basin, surrounded by land, and distinct from any river or other outlet that serves to feed or drain the lake. Lakes lie on land and are not part of the ocean, although, like the much larger oceans, they do form part of the Earth's water cycle. Lakes are distinct from lagoons, which are generally coastal parts of the ocean. Lakes are typically larger and deeper than ponds, which also lie on land, though there are no official or scientific definitions. Teplá (german: Tepl) is a town in Cheb District in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,900 inhabitants. Třemošná (potok)
Třemošná (; german: Tschemoschna) is a town in Plzeň-North District in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 5,100 inhabitants. Administrative parts The village of Záluží is an administrative part of Třemošná. Geography Třemošná is located about west of Plzeň. It lies in the Plasy Uplands. The highest point is at above sea level. The Třemošná Stream flows through the town. History The first written mention of Třemošná is from 1181. The village changed owners very often.
