Lakelands is the northernmost suburb of the city of Mandurah, Western Australia. The Lakelands Estate is being developed by Peet Limited and is expected to exceed 2500 lots when completed. Black Swan and Paganoni Lakes are a focal points of the estate with recreation areas and walking tracks. Mandurah Baptist College is located in Lakelands and was opened in 2005. Two primary schools are located in Lakelands; Lakelands Primary School and Oakwood Primary School which was opened in 2019. The Senior High School, Coastal Lakes College opened in 2018. To the south of Lakelands is Meadow Springs. The western side is bounded by Mandurah Road which separates Lakelands from Madora Bay and the Western beaches. Mandurah, Western Australia
Mandurah ( ) is a coastal city in the Australian state of Western Australia, situated approximately south of the state capital, Perth. It is the state's second most populous city, with a population of 90,306. Mandurah's central business district is located on the Mandurah Estuary, which is an outlet for the Peel Inlet and Harvey Estuary. Mandurah Railway Station
Mandurah railway station is the terminus of the Mandurah railway line and a bus station on the Transperth network, serving the satellite city of Mandurah, Western Australia. History The bus station opened prior to the railway station, on 17 September 2003, replacing a temporary bus terminus located nearby in the carpark of Rushton Park. The railway station later opened on the same site as the bus station, on 23 December 2007 by Premier of Western Australia, Premier Alan Carpenter alongside the rest of the Mandurah railway line. The car park was also significantly expanded for the opening of the railway station. In 2020, construction started on a $32 million multi-storey car park for Mandurah station as part of Metronet (Western Australia), Metronet. Lakelands Railway Station
Lakelands railway station is a railway station along the Mandurah line on the Transperth network in Western Australia. The station is in the Mandurah suburb of Lakelands, north of Mandurah station and south of Perth Underground station. Construction started in 2021 and it opened on 11 June 2023. Provisions for the station were made when the Mandurah line was originally built during the 2000s. There were several proposals to build the station during the 2010s, but when the state Labor Party came to power in 2017, it had committed to build the nearby Karnup station but not Lakelands station. Meanwhile, the federal Liberal Party wanted to build Lakelands station, so it committed to funding 80% of the A$80 million required to build the station. The federal government refused requests for the funding to be transferred to the Karnup station project, therefore that project was put on hold so that the state could fund Lakelands station. Mandurah Railway Line
The Mandurah line, also known as the Southern Suburbs Railway, is a suburban railway line and service in Western Australia, linking Perth's central business district (CBD) with Mandurah to the south. Operated by the Public Transport Authority (PTA) as part of the Transperth system, the Mandurah line is long and has thirteen stations. It commences as a through service with the Yanchep line in the William Street tunnel under the CBD, where two stations are.
