Lake Of Fire (album)
''Lake of Fire'' is the second and final studio album by Canadian band Shaye, released in 2006. About six months after the release of this album, Tara MacLean left the band and the band subsequently broke up. The album reached No. 92 on the Canadian album charts. Background and release Although the album was finished recording in 2006 it was only released on iTunes in November 2006. The physical CD Digipak not released until February 6, 2007 to coincide with a television show about the band. The music on this album was featured on the four-part reality television series ''Shaye, This Is It!'', produced by Breakthrough Films & Television and was aired on Global TV in May 2007. By the time the series was aired on E! Television that fall, the band had broken up and lost their record deal. Shaye was a Canadian pop group, consisting of singer-songwriters Kim Stockwood, Damhnait Doyle and Tara MacLean. MacLean left the group in 2007 and the band folded by 2009. The band is named after MacLean's sister who died in a car accident in 2002. Kim Stockwood
Kim Stockwood (born 11 November 1965) is a Canadian pop musician, singer and composer originally from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. She has recorded as a solo artist and also as a member of Atlantic Canadian music group Shaye with Damhnait Doyle and Tara MacLean. Career Stockwood began her music career in 1990 performing on folk nights at a local pub in St. John's, where she grew up. Soon after she was playing weekend gigs, while retaining her day job. In 1992, she moved to Toronto in search of a record deal. There, she talked her way into the office of EMI president Mike McCarty, chatted for an hour, then sang two songs for him right there at his piano. She left that day with a publishing deal and had a full-fledged recording contract within five months. Her first album, ''Bonavista'', was released in 1995. Damhnait Doyle
Damhnait Doyle (; born December 9, 1975) is a Canadian musician, singer and composer. A phonetic spelling of her first name (which is Irish) also serves as the title of her 2003 album. She was a member of Atlantic Canadian band Shaye from 2003–2009 with Kim Stockwood and Tara MacLean (2003–2007). Along with Blake Manning, Stuart Cameron and Peter Fusco, she formed a new band called The Heartbroken which was active since 2009. Career Doyle took singing, guitar and clarinet lessons as a child, and released her debut album, ''Shadows Wake Me'', in 1996. The lead single was "A List of Things", and the album garnered a Juno Award nomination and several East Coast Music Award nominations for Doyle. Van Morrison
Sir George Ivan Morrison (born 31 August 1945), known professionally as Van Morrison, is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose recording career spans seven decades. He has won two Grammy Awards. As a teenager in the late 1950s, he played a variety of instruments such as guitar, harmonica, keyboards and saxophone for several Irish showbands, covering the popular hits of that time. Known as "Van the Man" to his fans, Morrison rose to prominence in the mid 1960s as the lead singer of the Northern Irish R&B and rock band Them. Tupelo Honey (Van Morrison Song)
"Tupelo Honey" is a popular song written by Northern Ireland, Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison and the title song from his 1971 album, ''Tupelo Honey''. The title derives from an expensive, mild-tasting tupelo honey produced in the American South, southeastern United States. Released as a single in 1972, it reached number 47 on the U.S. pop chart. The melody, which has a catchy, soulful feel to it, was borrowed from Morrison's song "Crazy Love (Van Morrison song), Crazy Love", released the previous year.
