Lake Nabberu
Lake Nabberu is a large salt lake (geography), salt lake located in the Mid West (Western Australia), Mid West region of Western Australia. McMaster University Libraries - Lloyd Reeds Map Collection. Retrieved 7 January 2007. It extends into the centre of the Shoemaker crater. The edges of the lake are surrounded by low dune ridges, which support meager vegetation growth. It is a sparsely populated region extending from the west coast of Western Australia, about north and south of its administrative centre of Geraldton, Western Australia, Geraldton and inland to east of Wiluna, Western Australia, Wiluna in the Gibson Desert. A salt lake or saline lake is a landlocked body of water that has a concentration of salts (typically sodium chloride) and other dissolved minerals significantly higher than most lakes (often defined as at least three grams of salt per litre). In some cases, salt lakes have a higher concentration of salt than sea water; such lakes can also be termed hypersaline lakes, and may also be pink lakes on account of their colour. An alkalic salt lake that has a high content of carbonate is sometimes termed a soda lake. Wiluna, Western Australia
Wiluna is a small town in the Mid West region of Western Australia. It is situated on the edge of the Western Desert at the gateway to the Canning Stock Route and Gunbarrel Highway. It is the service centre of the local area for the local Martu people, the pastoral industry, the Wiluna Gold Mine, and many more people who work on other mines in the area on a " fly-in/fly-out" basis.
