Lake Moogerah
The Moogerah Dam is a concrete, mass concrete arch dam, double curvature arch dam with an Spillway#Types, un-gated spillway across the Reynolds Creek that is located in the South East Queensland, South East region of Queensland, Australia. The main purposes of the dam are for irrigation of the Reynolds Creek and for water supply, supply of potable water to Warrill Creek and farmers in the Warrill Valley. The impounded reservoir is called Lake Moogerah. Moogerah is derived from the Australian Aboriginal languages, Aboriginal word ''Moojirah'', meaning "home of the thunderstorm." Fassifern Valley
Fassifern Valley is a valley of the Scenic Rim in South East Queensland. Towns found in the valley include Harrisville, Kalbar, Roadvale, Warril View and Aratula. Fassifern Valley is known as a carrot-producing area, as well as for growing potatoes, onions, pumpkins and melons. It is one of four vegetable-producing regions in southern Queensland, the others being the Lockyer Valley, the eastern Darling Downs and the Granite Belt. The Cunningham Highway passes through the town of Aratula and along ridges in the upper valley towards Cunninghams Gap, Mount Mitchell and parts of the Main Range National Park. Swanbank Power Station, Queensland
The Swanbank Power Stations are located in Swanbank within South East Queensland, Australia. The original power station was coal fired, but the site has since moved to gas. By 2007 the site had consisted of the highly efficient gas-fired Swanbank E Power Station and the smaller gas-fired Swanbank C Power Station. Swanbank E was written off by the Queensland Audit Office as having no value, as it is uneconomical to run in 2021. Components Swanbank A was commissioned in 1967 and decommissioned in August 2005. It had six steam turbines, and was powered by coal. The three high, concrete smoke stacks were collapsed on 20 August 2006. South East Queensland Water Grid
The SEQ Water Grid is a region-wide, long term, water supply scheme that provides a sustainable water infrastructure network for the South East region of Queensland, Australia. The project was the largest urban response to the drought in Australia, which severely affected water supplies in Brisbane and surrounds, particularly between 2004 and 2007. The basic component of the project was a network of potable bulk water pipelines that connect areas that have an oversupply of water to those areas lacking water. The project went online in October 2008 and by November 2008 parts of the region were receiving a diversified supply of water for the first time. The Main Range is a mountain range and national park in Queensland, Australia, located predominantly in Tregony, Southern Downs Region, southwest of Brisbane. Moogerah Peaks National Park
Moogerah Peaks is a National Park in the Fassifern Valley of South East Queensland, Australia, located approximately 70 km south west of the state capital Brisbane. The 676-hectare park consists of four separate protected areas which surround volcanic peaks and rocky cliffs near Moogerah Dam. Environment Because the peaks are relatively inaccessible the natural vegetation of the area has remained intact. The vegetation is mostly open eucalypt forest with montane heath on exposed rock faces. In sheltered areas there are some patches of rainforest. Mount Edwards (Queensland)
Mount Edwards is a mountain in South East Queensland, Australia. The mountain rises above sea level and is part of the Moogerah Peaks National Park. It lies within its namesake locality Mount Edwards, approximately 100 km south west of Brisbane approximately 17 km (10.5 mi) from the town of Boonah. The mountain is the closest of the Moogerah Peaks to the Cunningham Highway and is 9 km south of Aratula.
