Lake June in Winter, on the west side of Lake Placid, Florida, has a surface area of . This lake is also written "Lake June-in-Winter" and was once known as Lake Stearns. The lake is kidney-shaped, with coves on the northeast and northwest. Lake June is bordered on the south, some of the east and much of the north by residences and residential areas. The entire western shore is bordered by Lake June in Winter Scrub State Park. Other areas are bordered by vacant areas of scrub and grassland. Two nearby lakes, Lake Henry (Florida) and Lake Lachard are near the lake's shores. Lake June has public access along much of its shoreline. Lake Placid, Florida
Lake Placid is a town in Highlands County, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 census the population was 2,223 and in 2018 the estimated population was 2,439. It is part of the Sebring Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town has two nicknames: "Town of Murals" and "The Caladium Capital of the World". On its northeast is Lake Henry Drive. The Tomoka Heights retirement subdivision is to its southeast and to its southwest is Lake June Road, which travels along the north shore of Lake June in Winter. More residential housing is to the south and west. Henry has a park on its shore along Lake Henry Drive. A series of canals run from its south side into residential areas to allow private boat access to the lake. There are no public boat docks or ramps servicing Lake Henry. Lake Lachard, also spelled Lake La Chard, is an oval-shaped lake that is roughly south of the eastern cove of Lake June in Winter. Lake Lachard has a surface area of .
