Lake Conroe
Lake Conroe is a lake in Montgomery County, Texas, United States. Even though it is named Lake Conroe, only a small portion of the lake is in Conroe, Texas. Most of the lake is in unincorporated Montgomery County. The lake lies on the West Fork of the San Jacinto River, just west of Interstate 45 off State Highway 105 in Montgomery and Walker counties. Lake Conroe is a popular attraction for boating, jet-skiing and fishing. Situation The lake runs through classic East Texas Piney Woods forests. Dan Goeb Patrick (born Dannie Scott Goeb; April 4, 1950) is an American radio talk show host, television broadcaster, and politician. Rudolph Tomjanovich Jr. (born November 24, 1948) is an American former professional basketball player and coach who is a consultant for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association (NBA). San Jacinto River Authority
The San Jacinto River Authority manages the San Jacinto River (Texas), San Jacinto River and its contributing watershed, which is located in Southeast Texas. The Texas Legislature established the authority in 1937 as the San Jacinto River Conservation and Reclamation District. In 1951, the legislature gave the SJRA its current name. The authority has managed the Lake Conroe reservoir since its impoundment in 1973. As part of a plan to reduce groundwater usage, the San Jacinto River Authority pumps surface water from Lake Conroe for use by cities and other entities in Montgomery County, Texas, Montgomery County. The SJRA charges the cities usage fees to cover the cost of pumping and treating the water. Walker County, Texas
Walker County is a county located in the east central section of the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 76,400. Its county seat is Huntsville. Initially, Walker County was named for Robert J. Walker, a legislator from Mississippi who introduced into the United States Congress the resolution to annex Texas. Walker later supported the U.S. during its Civil War and earned some enmity for it. In order to keep the county's name, the state renamed it for Samuel H.
