Lake Arthur (Quebec)
Lake Arthur (french: Lac Arthur) is a lake in Quebec, in Port-Cartier–Sept-Îles Wildlife Reserve in the Côte-Nord region. Location Lake Arthur is about northwest of Port-Cartier, Quebec. It is in the unorganized territory of Lac-Walker, in the Sept-Rivières Regional County Municipality of the Côte-Nord administrative region, Quebec. It is just east of Grand lac Caotibi, into which it drains. This lake in turns drains to the north into Petit lac Caotibi, which feeds the Rivière Toulnustouc Nord-Est (North-East Toulnustouc River), a tributary of Lake Caron in the Toulnustouc River basin. The Cartier Railway runs between Lake Arthur and Grand lac Caotibi. Lake Arthur has an area of about . It is one of the attractions of Port-Cartier–Sept-Îles Wildlife Reserve. Lake Rotoroa (Tasman)
Lake Rotoroa lies within the borders of Nelson Lakes National Park in the South Island, New Zealand. The lake is fed by the D'Urville and Sabine rivers. The greatest depth is 145 metres, and it has an area of just under 23.5 km. The lake is surrounded by beech forest. Rotoroa is a small community at the base of the lake. The Gowan River flows out of the lake at this point, thus making the lake one of the sources of the Buller River system. A track follows the northeast side of the lake and a water taxi travels the length of the lake to ferry trampers to and from the tracks at the head of the lake. The lake has introduced trout, which attract recreational fishermen. There is a fly-fishing lodge, Lake Rotoroa Lodge, on the lake. Lake Arthur is a town in Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 2,738 at the 2010 census, down from 3,007 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Jennings Micropolitan Statistical Area. The current mayor is Sherry Crochet. History The lake and the abundant wildlife near Lake Arthur made the place an early camping ground for Native Americans, most likely Attakapas, although there were also Comanche Indians in the area at times during the era just before European settlement. Before Lake Arthur, first settled was a little village that was south and across the lake called Lakeside and also the area called Shell Beach. Acadian families moved to the area in the late 1700s. Moraine State Park
Moraine State Park is a Pennsylvania state park on in Brady, Clay, Franklin, Muddy Creek, and Worth townships in Butler County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The park's main feature is its man-made lake, Lake Arthur, formed by impounding Muddy Creek, which is and is used for recreational purposes.
