A lake is an area filled with water, localized in a basin, surrounded by land, and distinct from any river or other outlet that serves to feed or drain the lake. Lakes lie on land and are not part of the ocean, although, like the much larger oceans, they do form part of the Earth's water cycle. Lake is a town in Newton and Scott counties, Mississippi. The population was 408 at the 2000 census. Geography Lake is located at (32.343228, -89.328193). The town is located mostly within Scott County, with a portion on the east in adjacent Newton County. In the 2000 census, 393 of the town's 408 residents (96.3%) lived in Scott County and 15 (3.7%) in Newton County. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km2), all land. Demographics 2020 census As of the 2020 United States census, there were 475 people, 172 households, and 139 families residing in the town. 2000 census As of the census of 2000, there were 408 people, 147 households, and 108 families residing in the town. Lake Aircraft was a manufacturer of amphibious aircraft. Its factory was in Sanford, Maine, United States, and its sales offices were located at Laconia / Gilford, New Hampshire and Kissimmee, Florida. The assets are currently owned by Revo Inc, owned by Armand Rivard, although the company was put up for sale again in August 2018. History In January 2009 company owner Armand Rivard indicated that he intended to sell the company and retire. The company had previously been offered for sale in 2001, 2002, via auction in 2005 and in 2007. Lake Aircraft produced one aircraft in 2007 and none in 2008, but continues to make parts for existing aircraft. Set in 1986, the story follows Meredith Weiss, a software developer who spends two weeks in her hometown of Providence Oaks, Oregon, where she temporarily assumes the role of the town's mail carrier. The player interacts with residents while delivering mail to them. The game presents dialogue options which influence the events of the story and its ending. The four-year development began in 2017 after director Dylan Nagel pitched the concept to Gamious. The setting was chosen for its aesthetics, while the time period was selected as it offered a nostalgic and relatable feeling. The world and characters were inspired by several American sitcoms and actors, and research was conducted into narrative-focused adventure games. Lake, or commonly referred to as The Lake in some countries, is a German-British rock music group that formed in 1973 in Hamburg, Germany. In 1975, they were joined by lead singer James Hopkins-Harrison, who gave them their signature sound for the remainder of their recording career. History The band was originally active as The Tornados between 1967 and 1973, before reincarnated as Lake in 1973. They achieved modest success in Europe from the mid-1970s through the early 1980s, particularly in Germany where they were named artist of the year by the German Phono Academy in 1977.
