''Lake'' is the first studio album by Lake, released in Germany in 1976 and the USA in 1977. The track "Time Bomb" was the band's highest charting single of their career. Lake (German Band)
Lake, or commonly referred to as The Lake in some countries, is a German-British rock music group that formed in 1973 in Hamburg, Germany. In 1975, they were joined by lead singer James Hopkins-Harrison, who gave them their signature sound for the remainder of their recording career. History The band was originally active as The Tornados between 1967 and 1973, before reincarnated as Lake in 1973. They achieved modest success in Europe from the mid-1970s through the early 1980s, particularly in Germany where they were named artist of the year by the German Phono Academy in 1977. That same year, their self-titled debut album reached #92 in the US, and the single ''Time Bomb'' reached #83, which would prove to be their greatest success in the US. The album reached #97 while Time Bomb reached #91 in Canada. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Alex Conti
Alex Conti (born 2 April 1952) is a German guitarist. Biography Alex Conti was born in Berlin. At the age of 17 he was already a professional musician. In 1973, he went to England for one year and played with ''Curly Curve''. In 1974, he replaced Dieter Bornschlegel as guitarist of ''Atlantis''. During his time with Atlantis he was involved in the recording of the two albums ''Ooh Baby'' and ''Atlantis Live''. He also toured the US with the band as support band for Aerosmith and Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1975. Conti then went on to play with ''Lake'' and recorded their debut album with them. The band was also successful in the US and toured there several times in 1977 and 1978, partly together with Neil Young and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Conti left ''Lake'' in 1980 and after releasing two solo albums in 1981 and 1984 he joined the band ''Elephant'' from Hamburg.
