The Lajeado State Park ( pt, Parque Estadual do Lajeado) is a State park (Brazil), state park in the state of Tocantins, Brazil. It protects a fragile, dry, hilly environment near the state capital of Palmas, Tocantins, Palmas. Location The Lajeado State Park is divided between the municipalities of Palmas, Tocantins, Palmas (87.92%) and Lajeado, Tocantins, Lajeado (12.08%) in the state of Tocantins. It covers an area of . It is in the Lajeado sub-basin of the Tocantins River basin. The park lies in the Tocantins residual plain and covers a plateau bounded to the west by the Frente de Cuesta escarpment, which drops to the Tocantins depression. Palmas, Tocantins
Palmas (, ''Palm trees''; Xerente language, Akwẽ-Xerénte: ''Akwẽ krikahâzawre wam hã'' ) is the capital and largest city of the States of Brazil, state of Tocantins, Brazil. According to Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, IBGE estimates from 2020, the city had 306,296 inhabitants. Palmas is located at the state's geographic centre at an average altitude of 230 m (755 ft). The city is located between the ''Serra do Lajeado'' hills on the east and the Tocantins River on the west. Palmas has a metropolitan area with 471,639 inhabitants. Maned Wolf
The maned wolf (''Chrysocyon brachyurus'') is a large canine of South America. It is found in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, and Paraguay, and is almost extinct in Uruguay. Its markings resemble those of foxes, but it is neither a fox nor a wolf. It is the only species in the genus ''Chrysocyon'' (meaning "golden dog"). It is the largest canine in South America, weighing and up to at the withers. Its long, thin legs and dense reddish coat give it an unmistakable appearance.
