Lahore Regional Cricket Association
The Lahore Regional Cricket Association (known as the LRCA) is the governing body for cricket in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. History LRCA, formerly known as LCCA, was formed in the early 1950s. It has two grounds in Lahore: LCCA Ground hosts first-class matches, while Gaddafi Stadium hosts international matches. It has fielded a number of Lahore teams in Pakistan's first-class, List A and T20 competitions. Lahore City Cricket Association Ground
The Lahore City Cricket Association Ground (formerly known as Punjab Cricket Association Ground) is a cricket ground located opposite to Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan. This ground is used for domestic First-class cricket, List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket matches. The acting President of Lahore City Cricket Association is Mr. Aizad Hussain Sayid. From 1980 to November 2012, 265 First-class cricket matches, 105 List A cricket matches and 12 Twenty20 cricket matches has been played on this ground. Lahore City Cricket Association is determined to make ground, an international standard facility where state of the art cricket facilities are available under one roof. Floodlights will be installed here to develop a new culture of night cricket in the Lahore city. Pakistan Cricket Board
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is a sports governing body for cricket in Pakistan responsible for controlling and organising all tours and matches undertaken by the Pakistan national cricket team. A member of the International Cricket Council since 1952, it represents the country's men's and women's national teams in international cricket tournaments played under the ICC. Following the establishment of Pakistan as an independent dominion of the British Empire in 1947, professional and amateur cricket commenced in the same year, seeing as local infrastructure had already been established when the country was part of the British Raj. Cricket matches were arranged informally until 1948, when a Board of Control was formally instituted. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Gaddafi Stadium
Gaddafi Stadium ( ur, , translit=Qaẕẕāfī Isṭeḍiyam), previously known as Lahore Stadium is a cricket stadium in Lahore, Pakistan and the home ground of Lahore Qalandars. It is owned by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). With a capacity of 27,000, it is the fourth largest cricket stadium of Pakistan. Gaddafi Stadium was the first in Pakistan to be equipped with modern floodlights having their own standby power generators. The headquarters of the Pakistan Cricket Board are situated at Gaddafi Stadium, thus making it the home of the Pakistan national cricket team. It was designed by Russian-born Pakistan architect and civil engineer Nasreddin Murat-Khan, and constructed by Mian Abdul Khaliq and Company in 1959.
