Lahiru Kumara
Chandradasa Brahammana Ralalage Lahiru Sudesh Kumara, commonly as Lahiru Kumara (born 13 February 1997), is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer, who plays for the Sri Lanka national cricket team in all three formats of the game. He was selected to the international squad at the age of 19, due to his fast bowling capabilities of 140+kmp/h and excellent performances in the Under-19 team. Domestic career Kumara made his first-class debut for Sri Lanka A against West Indies A on 4 October 2016. He made his Twenty20 debut for Nondescripts Cricket Club in the 2017–18 SLC Twenty20 Tournament on 24 February 2018. In March 2018, Kumara was named in Kandy's squad for the 2017–18 Super Four Provincial Tournament. 2017–18 Super Four Provincial Tournament
The 2017–18 Super Four Provincial Tournament was a first-class cricket tournament, that was played in Sri Lanka during March and April 2018. It took place following the conclusion of the 2017–18 Premier League Tournament and featured four teams based on the Centers of Excellence in Sri Lanka. It was the first time this type of tournament has been played in Sri Lanka since 2013. Galle won the tournament, finishing ahead of Dambulla, despite Dambulla winning a game, with Galle drawing all their fixtures. Sri Lankan national cricket team toured South Africa from 18 December 2016 to 10 February 2017. The tour consisted of a series of three Tests, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). After the initial tour schedule was announced, the dates were moved slightly to accommodate South Africa's domestic T20 tournament. On 12 December 2016 AB de Villiers stood down as South Africa's Test captain. He named his stand-in Faf du Plessis as replacement, a move that was confirmed by Cricket South Africa (CSA). 2016–17 Zimbabwe Tri-Series
The 2016–17 Zimbabwe Tri-Series was a One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament that was held in Zimbabwe in November 2016. It was a tri-nation series between the national representative cricket teams of Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and the West Indies. The Sri Lankan team were originally scheduled to tour Zimbabwe for two Tests, three ODIs and one Twenty20 International (T20I). However, the ODIs and T20I were replaced by this tri-series. DRS technology was used for the first time in a limited-overs series in Zimbabwe. Peter Joseph Moor (born 2 February 1991) is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He plays as a wicket-keeper batsman and is a former vice-captain for the Zimbabwe cricket team. Moor holds an Irish passport, and since 2021, he has been playing cricket in Ireland with an aim to qualify to play for the Ireland cricket team. Asitha Madusanka Fernando (born 31 July 1997) is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer. He made his international debut for the Sri Lanka cricket team in July 2017. The 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament held in Bangladesh from 22 January to 14 February 2016. It was the eleventh edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and the second to be held in Bangladesh, after the 2004 event. The World Cup was contested by the national under-19 teams of sixteen International Cricket Council (ICC) members, and all matches played were held under-19 One Day International (ODI) status. 2021 Lanka Premier League
The 2021 Lanka Premier League also known as Wolf777 News LPL T20, for sponsorship reasons, was the second edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) Twenty20 franchise cricket tournament in Sri Lanka. It took place from 5 to 23 December 2021. There were plans to increase the number of teams from five to six, but Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that five teams would take part, as per the first tournament. In June 2021, Charith Senanayake was appointed as the chairman of the LPL Technical Committee for the 2021 Lanka Premier League. 2021 SLC Invitational T20 League
The 2021 SLC Invitational T20 League was a Twenty20 cricket tournament that took place in Sri Lanka from 12 to 24 August 2021. All the matches were played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, in Kandy, and were used as preparation for South Africa's tour of Sri Lanka and the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Four teams took part, with the top two sides playing each other in the final. Both of the matches scheduled to take place on the opening day of the tournament were rescheduled to the following day due to rain. Following a COVID-19 case in the team hotel, the matches scheduled for 20 August 2021 were moved back by one day. The Lanka Premier League (abbreviated as LPL; , ) is a professional cricket league in Sri Lanka in Twenty20 format contested every year by teams representing Sri Lankan cities from 2020.
