Lahi United FC, currently known for sponsorship reasons as Snax Lahi United FC, is a semi-professional association football club based in Lae, Papua New Guinea. The club was founded in 2017. The side made their competitive debut in the inaugural edition of the Papua New Guinea National Premier League, finishing 5th in the Northern Conference. In 2019, they took part in the 2019 edition of the Papua New Guinea National Soccer League, finishing 4th in the Northern Conference. History The club was founded sometime in 2017, shortly before the first edition of the Papua New Guinea National Premier League. The side were drawn into the Northern Conference alongside the likes of Markham FC, Morobe FC and Laiwaden FC, but had a poor season despite high expectations. The KPHL National Soccer League, also known as the Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited National Soccer League for sponsorship reasons, is the men's top division of professional soccer in Papua New Guinea. It is a nationwide league formed in 2006 by Papua New Guinea Football Association. It replaced the Papua New Guinea National Club Championship as the country's major soccer competition. In its 13 seasons, the competition has been won by only two clubs: Hekari United won the first eight editions, while Lae City have won the last six. 2019 Papua New Guinea National Soccer League
The 2019 Papua New Guinea National Soccer League, known for sponsorship reasons as the Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited National Soccer League, was the 13th edition of Papua New Guinea National Soccer League, the top-tier football league in Papua New Guinea. It started on 26 January 2019. Toti City F.C. were the defending champions. The title was won by Toti City, who picked up their fifth title after defeating eight-time champions Hekari United in the final on penalties. Format A brand new format for the competition was announced on 19 November 2018, with the league being split into the four regions of the country: Northern ( Momase), Southern ( Papua), Highlands and Islands. The National Premier League was the flagship competition of the Football Federation Papua New Guinea (FFPNG). It was a semi-professional league. It was founded in 2017 after several clubs broke away from the Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA), and ran alongside the National Soccer League as a rival competition.
