Lagos State Head Of Service
The Lagos State Head of Service is the highest rank of the Lagos State Civil Service. The appointment is often confirmed by the Governor of Lagos State subject to the approval of the State House of Assembly. The appointment is often based on the years of experience and services at the State Civil Service and preferably, a serving permanent secretary. The position was formerly combined with the Secretary to the State Government during the Military regime and the appointed civil servant automatically becomes the Deputy Governor of the state but the offices were separated in 1999. Lagos State Civil Service
The Lagos State Civil Service consists of employees in Lagos State government agencies other than the military. Most employees under the service are career civil servants in the Lagos state ministries, progressing based on qualifications and seniority. The civil service is headed by Head of Service, a senior member of the state civil service appointed by the state Governor. The head of service of Lagos state civil service is Hakeem Muri-Okunola. Organization The civil service is mainly organized around the state ministries, headed by a commissioner appointed by the Governor of Lagos state. The Governor's appointments are confirmed by the State House of Representatives. There are 24 government ministries of Lagos State. Akinsanya Sunny Ajose (born ) is a Nigerian politician and public administrator. He served as Lagos State Head of Service from July 2004 – February 2006. Early life and education Akinsanya was born in Badagry, a town and local government area of Lagos State, South-Western Nigeria. His educational background started in 1954 when he enrolled as a pupil at Ijaiye Baptist Day School but he completed his primary school education at Tinubu Methodist Day School in 1959 and subsequently completed his secondary school education at Badagry Divisional Grammar School in 1964.
