Rainer Lagemann is a German metal sculptor and photographer. He is best known for his abstract steel sculptures of the human body. Early life Lagemann was born in Düsseldorf, Germany on 14 September 1959. He attended the Albert-Einstein-Schule, Albert Einstein Gymnasium for primary and secondary school, before taking an internship in a copper mine in Chile and then serving Germany with 18 months of civil service Zivildienst, delivering food to the elderly. He attended FH Lippe in Detmold, Germany in Interior-Architecture and Design between 1983 and 1987. After college he began a career in interior design. He moved to California in 1988, and eventually founded the interior design firm Bay Window Coverings in Berkeley, California. In 1992 he then founded The Magazine, which imported and retailed furniture from Europe to the Bay area. Vollmarshausen
Vollmarshausen is a village of 3000 inhabitants incorporated into the municipality of Lohfelden in Hesse, Germany. History The area around Vollmarshausen was settled in the late Bronze Age and early Iron Age (about 1200 to about 650 BC). 1951 a large burial site (with 252 registered graves, all by cremation) was found. It is one of the most important finds from this period in Western Europe. In the 10th and 11th century, the land east of Kassel was given to colonists. In the year 1019 Henry II gave the village to the monastery of Kaufungen. During the Middle Ages until the 19th century Vollmarshausen was a court place, on this place there is the 250-year-old lime tree with an old stone table. A gunsmith is a person who repairs, modifies, designs, or builds guns. The occupation differs from an armorer, who usually replaces only worn parts in standard firearms. Wheellock
A wheellock, wheel-lock or wheel lock is a friction-wheel mechanism which creates a spark that causes a firearm to fire. It was the next major development in firearms technology after the matchlock and the first self-igniting firearm. Its name is from its rotating steel wheel to provide ignition. Developed in Europe around 1500, it was used alongside the matchlock and later the snaplock (1540s), the snaphance (1560s) and the flintlock (c. 1610s).
