Lady IB
Ibitoru I.B. Green, better known as Lady IB, is a singer from Bonny, Rivers State, Nigeria. She was elected Chair of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria Rivers State Branch in 2013, and is the second woman, after Muma Gee, to hold the position. After serving for about a year, she was re-elected to the same office for a second term. She has worked with artists such as Daniel Wilson, King Sunny Brown, Don Bruce, Geraldo Pino and Prince David Bull, among others. Bonny, Rivers State
Bonny (originally Ibani) is a traditional, coastal town and a Local Government Area in Rivers State in southern Nigeria, on the Bight of Bonny. It is also the capital of the Kingdom of Bonny. Traditionally (especially between the 15th and 19th centuries) it was a major trading post of the eastern Delta, and its economy witnessed the sale of slaves. Bonny Island is a major export point for oil today. The region produces a type of crude oil known as Bonny Light oil. Much of the oil extracted onshore in Rivers State is piped to Bonny for export. It has the biggest LNG Gas Plant in Nigeria with six (6) trains. Currently, the Federal Government of Nigeria has set plans for the construction of the 7th train of the NLNG to boost its gas production in anticipation of dominating the African market. PMAN Rivers State Branch
The Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria Rivers State Branch (PMAN Rivers State Branch) is an organization existing to promote the music profession and oversee the welfare of musicians in Rivers State, Nigeria. It is the state affiliate of the national Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN). Its state headquarters are in Port Harcourt. History Founded in 1995, Geraldo Pino, a musician from Enugu led the association until 2004. He was succeeded by Muma Gee who became the first elected female chairman, but was later "impeached for misappropriation of funds and lack of accountability." In 2010, Lexy M assumed leadership of the association. He served until 2013 when succeeded by Lady IB, the second woman to hold the position. Gift Iyumame Eke (née Uwame; born 18 November 1978), professionally known as Muma Gee (), meaning "do good Gift", is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, actress, businesswoman, fashion designer, television personality and politician. National Network (newspaper)
The ''National Network'' is an English language Nigerian weekly newspaper founded 25 November 2004. It is published by Network Printing and Publishing Company and has its headquarters in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Topics the newspaper covers include local and national main news, sports, business, political events and personalities. In January 2005, Jerry Needam, owner of the paper was arrested at his office for allegedly fabricating a news report aimed at tarnishing Rivers State Police commissioner Sylvester Araba's image and reputation. In 2011, ''National Network'' celebrated the "seventh" anniversary of its foundation. ''The Tide'' is a Nigerian daily newspaper. It is the most widely circulated newspaper published in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and one of Nigeria's major newspapers. Owned and funded by the state, ''The Tide'' began printing operations on 1 December 1971 and has a digital version. Fire On 20 July 2012, a fire broke out in ''The Tide''s main building, damaging significant portions of the establishment, including the General Manager's office, Credit Control Unit, Administration General office and Board Room. Although no injuries or deaths were reported, much of the company's equipment and staff documents were destroyed. According to a statement from the General Manager Mr. Celestine Ogolo, the fire started at around 2.00a.m and quickly took over the highest floor of the building where his office was stationed.
