Ladislav Rygl, Jr.
Ladislav Rygl Jr. (born May 15, 1976 in Vrchlabí) is a Czech Republic, Czech nordic combined skier who competed from 1995 to 2006. Competing in three Winter Olympics, he had his best overall finish of eighth in the 4 x 5 km team event at Nagano (city), Nagano in 1998 Winter Olympics, 1998 and his best individual finish of 17th in the 7.5 km sprint event at Turin in 2006 Winter Olympics, 2006. Rygl's best finish at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships was sixth in the 15 km individual event at Lahti in FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2001, 2001. He earned three World Cup victories, one in a 7.5 km sprint and the others in the 15 km individual events in 1999 and 2000. In total he had 13 world cup podium finishes. Vrchlabí
Vrchlabí (; german: Hohenelbe, la, Albipolis) is a town in Trutnov District in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 12,000 inhabitants. It lies at the foot of the Giant Mountains on the river Elbe. The town centre with the castle complex, monastery complex and town park is well preserved and is protected by law as an Cultural monument (Czech Republic)#Monument zones, urban monument zone. 1970 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships
The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1970 took place 14–22 February 1970 in Vysoké Tatry, Czechoslovakia (present-day Slovakia). This was the second time this city hosted the event having done so in 1935. It was the first time an event was televised in colour from Czechoslovakia though broadcasting there remained in black and white. Vysoké Tatry (; hu, Magastátra, ; german: Höhe Tatra, ; pl, Wysokie Tatry, ; cs, Vysoké Tatry, ), formally Mesto Vysoké Tatry () is a town at the feet of the Slovak part of High Tatras in Slovakia including all the major resorts in that region.
