Ladislav Eugen Petrovits
Ladislav Eugen Petrovits (Vienna, Austria, 21 January 1839 - Vienna, Austria, 1 April 1907) was an Austrian painter and illustrator of Serbian and Czech origin. He was the son of the Serbian neo-classicist sculptor Dimitrije Petrović (1799-1852). Although his family wanted Ladislav to devote himself to sculpture, he himself was against and, under the influence of theatre painter Carlo Brioschi, became a painter instead. In 1857–1861 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with Franz Steinfeld and Albert Zimmermann. He was a member of the Club of Watercolor Artists at the Vienna Fine Artists Society. Illustrated a number of books; his works were published in ''Illustrierte Zeitung and L'Illustration''. Since 1859 he participated in various exhibitions focused on painting the city and the landscape. Carlo Brioschi
Carlo Brioschi (24 June 1826 – 12 November 1895) was a painter and scenic designer, born in Milan, Italy, but mostly active in Austria. Biography Carlo was the son of the scenic designer Giuseppe Brioschi (died in Vienna in 1856) and father of the similarly engaged Othmar (1854–1912) and Anton (1855–1920). He was a student of Leopold Kupelwieser, Thomas Ender, and Franz Steinfeld at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna. In 1853, he worked in Paris. From 1856 to 1886, he worked with the Vienna State Opera. With Johann Kautsky and Hermann Burghart he established the cooperative enterprise of "Brioschi, Burghart und Kautsky, k.u.k. Hoftheatermaler in Wien", which employed dozens of carpenters, blacksmiths, mechanics and clerks in addition to their painters; among whom were Georg Janny, , Ferdinand Brunner and Alfons Mucha. Franz Steinfeld
Franz Steinfeld (26 March 1787 – 5 November 1868) was an Austrian landscape painter. He is often referred to as "The Younger", to distinguish him from his father, also named Franz (1750-1832), who was a sculptor. Life and work Steifeld was born on 26 March 1787 in Vienna. He initially studied sculpting with his father but, at the suggestion of the engraver, Francesco Vasanova (1727-1802), he was enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna. There, he studied with Laurenz Janscha, and Albert Christoph Dies. In 1805, he went on a study trip to the Rheinlands and the Netherlands, where he was attracted to the works of Jacob van Ruisdael. Milan Jovanović Stojimirović (Smederevo, Kingdom of Serbia, 19 June 1898 – Belgrad, Serbia, Yugoslavia, 6 March 1966) was a Serbian journalist, diplomat, manager of the Archive of Serbia, and chronicler of Old Belgrade.
