Felix Ladbroke
Felix Calvert Ladbroke (1771 - 14 March 1840) was an English banker and amateur cricketer. Biography He was born in Idlicote, near Shipton-on-Stour, Warwickshire, the second son of Robert Ladbroke, banker and Member of Parliament for Warwick. His father later sold Idlicote and purchased estates in Surrey. Felix inherited 10,000 pounds on his father's death in 1814 and land, mainly in Surrey, from his cousin James Weller Ladbroke, Following his father, he was a partner in the banking firm of Ladbroke, Kingscote and Co. and also had insurance and brewing interests. In 1829 he was appointed High Sheriff of Surrey. James Weller Ladbroke
James Weller Ladbroke (died 16 March 1847) was a nineteenth-century landowner and the principal developer of the Ladbroke Estate, a substantial parcel of land in Notting Hill, London, England. Many streets in Notting Hill still bear the Ladbroke name today, including Ladbroke Grove and Ladbroke Square, and the former Ladbroke Estate is now a conservation area. Ladbroke Estate In the early nineteenth century the Ladbroke family were the principal landowners in Kensington, then a largely rural area on the western edges of London. The Ladbroke Estate was located north of the Uxbridge Road (now Notting Hill Gate and Holland Park Avenue), and development of the land began in 1821, continuing until the 1870s. James Ladbroke
James Weller Ladbroke (1772 at Idlicote, Warwickshire – 23 March 1847 at Petworth, Sussex) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket from 1800 to 1826. He had amateur status and was mainly associated with Sussex but played for several occasional teams too, making 19 known appearances in matches designated first-class by ''CricketArchive''. He totalled 73 runs with a highest score of 12, held one catch and took one wicket. Until 1819 when he changed his name following an inheritance, Ladbroke was called James Weller. He was a captain in the British Army.
